Meeting Point
La Serena
- We pick you up at hotel or anywhere in La Serena-Coquimbo
Pinguino de Humboldt Natural Reserve
A protected coastal area including several islands where penguins meet whales, and dolphins meet pelicans. We take a boat trip to get close to the islands and look for sealife in the horizon.
Chañaral de Aceituno
A nice coastal place where we will have a lunch including local seafood, traditional dishes, cofee and cake. Chillout for a while before we continue.
Metamorphic Landscape
We will visit the geological wonders of the region starting with the coastal million years old metamorphic complex, then recognizing awesome signals of sea level variations, fossils of creatures trapped under the sediment, moving dunes and old volcanic lava flows.

Full day car transport from and to La Serena/Coquimbo
The cars are: Ford Ranger 4x4 Pickup 2021 and a Mitsubishi L200 4x4 Pickup 2017, both fullfilling all legal transit statements.

Tour Important Information
This tour includes a car trip, including fuel and highway tolls. I also includes a boat trip of about 2 hours, ticket included. During the boat trip, wind and moisture is an inportant issue. Be sure to bring the right clothes, the best would be a waterproof jacket, a hat and a scarf. Also you could bring extra clothes in case you get too wet.
Please let me know in advance if you have any food allergies or other dietary restrictions.
The presence of whales or any other sealife species is common in the area, but not guaranteed in the tour. We will do our best to see them!
