Out-of-this-world colorful landscapes of Ethiopia
Both the highest lands of Africa and the lowest point of the continent situated under sea level are in
Ethiopia.
The Danakil Depression situated under sea level is a surreal landscape rich in geothermal features. It is one of the geologically most active areas on the planet and has some of the most awe-inspiring and surreal landscapes made of salt, geysers, springs and fumaroles, and the Great Salt Lake where
salt mining and trading has been going on with camel caravans.
Meeting Point
At the airport
Day 1: Erta Ale
You will fly from Addis Ababa to Semera Airport and we will pick you from the airport in the morning upon your arrival to Semera and drive directly to Erta Ale ( The active volcano shield which is starting a new activity recently) …. You will have a knowledgeable local guide, cook and security from Afdera town. Overnight in an open air camping on the top of Ertale mountain. We will visit the volcano at night and early morning.
Day 2: Hamedela
We drive to Hamedela where we will drive on the volcano landscape with several stops on the way and finally visit the sunset at lake Assale and overnight in an open air camping in Hamedela ( we have all the camping gears as such a comfortable bed, clean bedsheets, mattress, pillows and portable beds.
Day 3: Dallol (colorful sulfur field)
Early in the morning we drive to Dallol colorful sulfur field and visit these strange land which is one of the lowest point on the continent and then visit the salt mountain cave, the salt formation black water lake and finally we drive to Afdera. We will camp in nearby the lake with a hot spring shower and a swim in the lake in the afternoon. Overnight camping.
Day 4: Allalobed geysers and hot springs
We drive to Semera, visit local Afar tribe village and Allalobad hot spring Geyser lakes. Overnight in Semera Kuriftu resort. Then we will transfer you to the airport in the next morning and this will be end of the tour.

Inclusions & Exclusions
1. Transportation; reliable standard 4wd Toyota landcruiser vehicle with fuel.
2. Airport/hotel pick up and Hotel/Airport transfers at the end of the tour.
3. Village entry fees.

5. Three meals a day throughout the tour with unlimited packed drinking water.
6. Accommodation's, would be a combination of Lodges/Hotels and camping in different villages with different tribe's in single bed room and double bed rooms and Tents basis.
6.1; For overnight stay in the villages with the tribes we will make available all necessary camping equipments and gears to cook ( tents, mattress, bed sheets etc... ).
7. A cook

3. Personal expenses like buying souvenirs, laundry, tips and etc...
Tour Important Information
If you enjoy Hiking Trails then we can do it, just get prepared for it.
Good footwear is recommended, as the landscape is dusty and many plants have spikes that can easily pierce through weak soles.
