On this tour you will see the high-altitude turquoise lake Kel-Suu, which is located at an altitude of 2700 meters. It is located among the Tien Shan mountains, to which the path lies through the high Tien Shan fir trees, along a stormy mountain river. The lake originates from glaciers that are at an altitude of more than 4000 meters, so it has a blue-turquoise color. Edelweiss also bloom here and you will feel the aroma of mountain herbs, including thyme.

Meeting Point

Meeting (in Bishkek)
We will meet at the hotel to start our tour (no matter where your hotel is located). We leave in the direction of the Kegetinsky gorge (1.5 hours - 80 km.
Kol-Tor Gorge
And on the Kegetinsky Gorge we turn into the Kol-Tor Gorge, where we leave the car and start a below average difficulty trek to the lake. The distance to the lake is about 6 km and the elevation difference is about 800 meters. The path at the beginning will go along the mountain river and then we will go through the forest of Tien Shan firs. (In time, it will take about 3 hours one way and about 1.5 hours in the opposite direction).
Kol-Tor Lake
The lake has a turquoise color due to the fact that it was formed from a glacial river. In the vicinity of the lake, you can see marmots if there are almost no people. There bloom edelweiss, which are included in the Red Data Book. You can walk around the lake and enjoy the beautiful view from all sides and from the panoramic view. We will have a picnic by the lake and have lunch.
Kegety Waterfall
After descending from the lake into the gorge, we can drive 3 km along the Kegety gorge to see the waterfall. The waterfall is located by the road, and the distance to the waterfall is about 50 meters.
Back in Bishkek city
We return to the city of Bishkek through the villages where different ethnic groups live; Germans, Turks, Kazakhs, Kurds, Dungans, Uighurs, etc.
