Join me for a flexible road trip to the South Shore’s top icons! We’ll explore the "Mars" landscapes of Skazka (Fairytale) Canyon, hiking red sandstone ridges with lake views. Then, we head into Barskoon Gorge to see Yuri Gagarin’s monuments and hike to the "Snow Leopard" waterfalls. Because this is a private tour in my own Mercedes, we set the pace. Want a swim in the lake or a photo stop? No problem. It’s a comfortable, stress-free day exploring the best of Kyrgyzstan!

Tour Important Information
Cash is King: Please bring small bills in Kyrgyz Som (KGS). The entrance fees for Skazka Canyon and the Barskoon checkpoint are about 50 KGS each (less than $2 total). Most cafes in the villages do not accept credit cards.
The "Benz" Comfort: We will be traveling in my private Mercedes-Benz. It is a comfortable sedan perfect for the highway. For the last 1-2km of the mountain gorge where the road gets very rocky, we will park and hike to keep the car safe and enjoy the nature.
What to Wear:
Shoes: Wear sneakers or hiking boots with good grip. The red rocks in Skazka can be very slippery and "crumbly."
Layers: It can be hot in the canyon but windy and cold at the waterfalls. Bring a light jacket even in summer!
Sun Protection: There is almost no shade in Skazka Canyon. Please bring a hat and sunscreen—the mountain sun is very strong.
Lunch: We can stop at a local cafe (approx. $8-$10 per person) or you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to eat by the waterfall.
Swim Option: If you want to swim in Issyk-Kul lake on the way back, remember to bring a towel and swimwear!
Tour Policies & Conduct!
Alcohol Policy: For safety and comfort, no hard liquor (vodka, cognac, etc.) is allowed during the tour. If you’d like to enjoy a beer or a glass of wine with lunch, that is fine, but intoxication is strictly prohibited.
Adequate Behavior: This is a friendly, professional road trip. I expect respectful and adequate behavior at all times. As the driver, I reserve the right to end the tour immediately (without refund) if a guest becomes aggressive, dangerously intoxicated, or disrespectful to local culture and laws.
Car Care: My Mercedes is my business partner! Please help me keep it clean—no smoking inside the vehicle and please shake the red canyon sand off your shoes before hopping back in.
We'll be traveling in my classic Mercedes-Benz. She’s a bit of a legend—sturdy, comfortable, and has more character than a modern plastic car. She loves the road as much as I do! Note: To keep the lady happy, we'll park at the base of the mountain trails and enjoy the fresh air on foot for the final hike to the waterfalls.
