The Parish Church of Qrendi.
It is a baroque Church and it is dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady. We visit the church from inside. Then we pass through the narrow streets and also might meet with some old locals sitting and chatting among them.
The Sink Hole in Maltese 'Il-Maqluba' which means up side down.
Here we have beautiful natural scenery of the sink hole connected with the medieval chapel and the surroundings. Amazing legend connected with our local geological system on our islands is delivered by the local guide. Then we will visit the sink hole to enjoy the beauty of our endemic and indigenous trees and shrubs.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy
This baroque church was built on the site of a medieval Church which has developed over the years as a result of its growing spiritual attraction. The church is decorated with paintings as tokens given for graces received. Fra Philipp-Wolfgang von Guttenberg a Knight of the Order of St. John was a great donator to it. In fact, in front of this church, he built his summer residence which used to serve him as a retreat venue.
The Octangonal Tower
The tower was a medieval watch tower and its design is quite unique for Malta. Later on it was used by the Order of St. John as part of the network of military posts and stations for the security of the area. Visiting from outside and if the owner will be home will also visit it from inside . Here we might even meet with some locals passing by.
WW2 Underground Shelter
Malta in the Second World War became the most bombed place on earth. Therefore, shelters were the only guarantee of safety. This private shelter consists of hand-hewn corridors and its rooms were used during an air raid in the WW2 by the family. Worth to visit to get an insider’s perspective of living underground to save your life during WW2.
