Your Own Amsterdam. The Old Side

Our tour will take place in the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Amsterdam. Here you can see the narrowest houses, crooked alleyways, hidden yards and gardens, an old gateway with a nearly toy-like keeper's house, a leper shelter and a flea market, and also temples of almost all religions. We will walk along the quiet picturesque embankment, solve the riddles of facade boards, hunt for "spies" and of course try herring and oysters and drink mint tea in an unusual place.

St. Nicholas Cathedral - even though, this church was built after the Golden Age, we believe you cannot find a better place to find out more about catholics and protestants, The Eighty Years’ War and its consequences.
Int Aepjen - bar full of stories
In 't Aepjen - would you like to find out more about Dutch favorite drinks and drinking traditions? Let’s visit this authentic bar located in the oldest wooden house of Amsterdam! Here we would like to tell about national mentality, favorite games and big celebrations, illustrating our story with paintings by Jan Steen, Frans Hals and other magnificent artists.
Chinatown and De Waag - medieval weight chamber
This district has a lot of mysterious secrets and myths! Let’s discover why it was extremely popular among families to spend their leisure time around the former anatomical theatre! Illustrating our story with paintings of Rembrandt, we will discover more about witches, prisoners and punishments of the Golden Age.
Rembrand's House (without visit)
Rembrandt house - we would like to pay a special attention to this place and tell you more about Rembrandt, his life, talent and fate and find out what was important for every successful artist in the Golden Age.
Portuguese Synagogue and Jewish disctrict
Jewish Neighborhood - lovely quiet district, where you can see such sightseeing as Jewish Historical Museum, Portuguese synagogue and famous flea market. There we would like to tell more about Jewish diaspora in the Netherlands, their traditions, lifestyle and rights.

* This is an individual walking tour. For that reason we won't only tell you about the history of the Netherlands, the rise of Amsterdam, the national character and the modern life of this city. We will talk about the subjects that first of all interest you, be it the exciting tales of the past, or the Dutch economy, or the educational system and fascinating innovative projects.
* This tour is conducted by a team of guides (Anastasia, Sasha, Anna, Kate, Olga, Hanna).
* Meeting point is at Amsterdam Central station. The tour ends near Portuguese Synagogue.
* We do not visit Rembrand's House during this tour.

Half-Day Private Guided Sightseeing Tour of Zaanse Schans
“Beautiful Day at Zaanse Schans”
We were lucky to have sunshine on the day we visited Zaanse Schans. Our guide Marie's smile is as bright as the sunshine. She is patient and caring, sharing with us stories of the windmills and brought us to the cheese and chocolate places. The drinks at the cafe are lovely. We also enjoyed the special area she showed us at Amsterdam Ctrl Train Station.
