Takht Bhai relics are 2000 years old. This is one of the seven UNESCO world heritage sites in Pakistan since 1980.

Takht Bhai is famous for its archaeological sites but it has got a typical Pashtun dominant population, it is also famous for its Strawberry, sugarcane, Wheat, maize, vegetables. The traditional food of this province Chapli Kebab is also one of the popular food Tourist may try.

There are about eighty steps to the main courtyard one has to walk all the way by foot at ascending position. The walls of the site tells its own story. Until 7th century this Buddhist Monastery was operational latter it was destroyed by white Huns.
There are four main portions of the complex.The stupa court, a cluster of stupas located in a central courtyard. This is the first main entrance area where there are multiple stupas of ancient time, small, big & large. The structure of this Complex is amazing.
The Monastic chamber consisting of individual cells arranged around a courtyard, it has got assembly hall, ablution pool dining area & cuisine.
A Temple Complex consisting of stupas of different sizes, usually the Buddhist used to pray in this portion. The construction is of latter period.
The tantric Monastic Complex which consist of small dark cell type caves with low opening. These cells were used by the followers of Buddha for meditation inside for longer time while keeping fast.
Though there are additional structure on the Sites may have served as residence or meeting hall.All of the building on the site are constructed from local light brown stone.
At last one can move on the top to have a full view of the Monastery along with the Takht Bhai town. This is an ideal location to take photos.
As the visit to the Sites concludes the Tourists will move towards the Bazar on Bus. One can see the hustle bustle in the market, meet the people, buy some local handicraft.
Traditionally Chapli Kebab is the most delicious food one can have in Takht Bhai. It's made of mince beef, crushed onion, tomato, egg & other local spices.

It's a day tour, in summer the weather is hot & humid, winters are pleasant. The guests will need Hat, Sunglasses, water, female guests will have to abide by dress code, scarf on head & loose outfit. Avoid taking photograph of ladies. There are about eighty 80 steps one has to ascend to reach the main Complex, so one has to be ready for a little exertion.
