Son-Kul is one of the most famous high-mountain lakes in Kyrgyzstan. It is located at an altitude of 3016 m. above sea level. Lake Son-Kul can only be reached only in the summer (3 mounth) the rest of the time the road is blocked by snow and ice. In summer, Son-Kul is still cool. The average temperature is 15°C and at night it drops below zero. The yurts are equipped with small stoves that warm travelers at night.
