When there’s an opportunity to talk about women I’ll take it, and social class is always on the table. I've been a writer, researcher and critical historian all my life, and I've been a Londoner since the 1960s, although I've left to live in other towns and countries. Author of Sex at the Margins: Migration, Labour Markets and the Rescue Industry, for many years I've focused on getting the stories out of women and others marginalised because of being poor, foreign, ‘different’ or doing jobs some folks think are Wrong, in the present and in the past. I started my outdoors life when I was just a kid, always looking for new adventures and places to discover, since I a young age I enjoyed arranging adventurous walks for me and my friends, and I grow up doing this without knowing that one day I would study ecotourism and make my hobbies my source of work. After the highschool, I studied Ecotourism projects management for 5 years, This is why I moved to the Atacama Desert, to discovering and learning outdoors. After 10 years in the desert working like a guide and learning about everything in this area I start to take my own guest to show the desert. Now I spent most of my time working with outdoor activities, like climbing volcanos, mountain bike, exploring new areas, hiking and more. Over the last 5 years I have been doing Buddhist cave tours and culture walks in Mumbai which tell the story of the city. My favorite walk is the Gothic and Art Deco story of Mumbai. I have hosted hundreds of guests from 15 countries on this architecture walk. I am also a media technology veteran with multiple patents. Amit discovered his passion for cooking as a child, in his grandmother’s kitchen. Two decades later, when his family immigrated to South Africa he fulfilled his dreams and worked professionally in the field. Years later, after a visit in India, he was inspired by the culture and diverse cuisine and decided return to the subcontinent and train in the local culinary arts. He brought back his knowledge to Cape Town and opened Masala Dosa Restaurant that combined traditional South Indian cookery with a modern dining experience.
