* Big Five sightings are not guaranteed. Dinokeng is a Big Five reserve, but wildlife is free-roaming and sightings depend on nature and luck.

* The safari lasts 2 hours. The actual game drive is approximately two hours; travel time from Johannesburg/Pretoria is separate.

* A professional ranger leads the safari. Guests should follow the ranger's safety instructions at all times.

* Wild animals are unpredictable. Never stand up, shout at animals, feed them or attempt to leave the vehicle unless instructed by the ranger.

* Wear comfortable clothing. Neutral or earthy colours are recommended, especially for photography.

* Bring sun protection. Hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are useful, particularly during summer.

* Bring a camera or phone. Wildlife photography is one of the highlights, but keep devices secure inside the vehicle.

* Morning temperatures can be cool. Bring a light jacket, especially during winter.

* Stay hydrated. Bring or carry drinking water.

* Children should remain supervised. Parents/guardians are responsible for children throughout the experience.

* Be patient. Safari is about observing nature in its own environment—not rushing from one animal to another.

* Binoculars are recommended. They can make distant wildlife and birds much easier to see.

* Please arrive on time. The safari operates according to the reserve and ranger's schedule, so late arrival may affect the experience.
