Day 1-2: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport & transfer to lake Mburo National Park
The safari gives you a single step to unlock a world of boundless adventure, the Bwindi Impenetrable, Kibale, and Mgahinga National parks will offer you a life-changing primate safari that encounters the magical gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, and the charming chimpanzee tracking in the deep valleys, winding streams, hills, and captivating Jungle forests.
The adventure tour offers you an exhilarating mountain hike on the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, mount. Moroto and stunning Elgon mountains pass through rugged terrain, crossing meandering rivers and waterfalls with ecstatic views of the rest of the world.
This expedition also beckons the iconic River Nile, coursing through the landscape with rapids and waterfalls inviting white water rafting, kayaking, boat ride, and other heart-pounding activities. The source of the mighty Nile is a natural wonder that draws you to witness its magical birth.
Detailed itinerary.
Karibu Uganda “Welcome to Uganda”.
The adventure tour will commence with a pickup from the Airport by our company guide who will brief you about the tour and then embark on the journey from Kampala through Kayabwe for the equator experience and stopover for lunch and then proceed to Lake Mburo National Park.
On arriving at Lake Mburo National Park, you will have a community visit in the neighborhood of the park where you will experience the Ankole culture as well as see the majestic Ankole long-horned cattle.
Then check in at Mihingo Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and then go for a thrilling morning game drive that will give you ecstatic views of wildlife like eland, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, and buffaloes actively grazing in the open grasslands.
Then after you have lunch, relax as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo that will give spectacular of colorful birds like saddle-billed storks and aquatic animals like Hippos as well as other animals like buffaloes, zebras quenching their thirst at the shores of the lake.
Accommodation: Mihingo Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will have breakfast in the morning at the lodge and continue the journey through the majestic landscapes of terraced and green rolling hills of Kigezi that give you panoramic views of the local communities, then you proceed to Kabale town for Lunch break and continue 8km to lake Bunyonyi dotted by 29 Island with unique historical stories, you will have a boat ride on the lake and relax at the fancy lodges for a sundowner experience with vistas of the lake.
Day 4: Drive to Mgahinga National Park
On this day, you will have your breakfast at 8:30 am and then drive through snake-like roads on steep hills with panoramic views of Lake Mutanda in Kisoro where you will have lunch and then go canoeing on the lake. After the Canoeing, you will continue to Mgahinga National Park for an overnight stay at Mount Gahinga Lodge.
Day 5: Full day Hiking Mount Muhabura
You will have an early morning breakfast in the morning, with packed lunch and water; you will go for a briefing about hiking at the Ntebeko visitor’s center where you will be given a guide, rangers, and porters to carry your luggage.
At 7:00 am you will begin to climb Mount Muhabura which is a steep and tricky hike that requires stamina, fitness, and determination.
If you make it to the top of the volcano, you will have breathtaking scenery, magnificent countryside, lakes and other ecstatic views of the volcanoes within the Virunga ranges like Sabinyo, Gahinga, bisoke, and Nyiragongo.
The adrenaline-pumping hike gives you a feeling of being completely away from the real world as well as chances to spot primates, birds, and mammals like antelopes, and buffaloes.
The hike takes 5-7 hours after you descend the mountain on slippery slanting slopes to the foothills of the mountain.
Day 6: Ultimate gorilla tracking in Mgahinga
Early in the morning at 7:30, you go for registration and briefing at the Ntebeko visitor’s center where you will be assigned guides, rangers, and gorilla groups for groups for tracking.
By 8:30, you will commence the gorilla tracking while wandering in the jungle forests. The exhilaration attached to the first encounter with these great apes in their habitat is termed a life-changing experience. Sitting amidst the shaggy gorillas is the last memory that you will experience on your safari in Mgahinga.
You will have an hour to watch the fearsome, gentle, peaceful, and giant gorillas interact, feed, and mate with each other.
Day 7: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After having breakfast, you will gather at the park offices for a briefing about the golden monkey trekking. Thereafter you will commence the trek with rangers deep into the forests to find the Golden monkeys.
It takes about an hour to find the monkeys that spend a lot of their time on the top of trees, swinging from one branch to another, their glittering and unique gold color makes them stand out from most monkey species.
You will be given an hour to interact with the monkeys take photos, and watch them play, groom, mate, and feed. If nature allows, you may encounter other primates’ mountain gorillas, forest mammals, and colorful birds in the forest.
After you have lunch transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 8: fully day game drive in the park
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast, and go on a sunrise game drive that will give you a glimpse of wild animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, bushbucks, kobs, giant forest hogs, giraffes, antelopes coming out of the bush and actively grazing in the savanna grasslands.
Then drive to the Ishasha sector where you will have stunning views of the majestic Tree-climbing lions resting in the tree branches and watching their prey grazing from a distance after a long night of hunting.
In the afternoon you will have to go for game drives along the shores of Lake George as most animals tend to be near the source of water to drink and wallow in the mud.
In the evening, you will visit the crater lakes as you experience the African sundowner.
Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon Boat cruise
At 9:00 am, you will go for a guided nature walk in the kyambura gorge where you will immerse yourself with primates, take photos as the chimps play, feed, and mate, and swing in the tree branches. You will spot other primates like baboons, vervet monkeys as well as forest birds.
In the afternoon, you will go for a captivating boat cruise that will offer you spectacular views of the aquatic animals like Hippos, and crocodiles and also other wild animals like elephants, leopards, buffaloes, kobs, Bushbuck, waterbucks, antelopes, and warthogs as they quench their thirst at the shores of the lake.
Along the shores of Lake George, you will spot a variety bird species like Egyptian goose, red-tailed ant thrush, garganey, Hottentot teal, hadada ibis, rufous billed heron, rufous-breasted sparrow hawk, olive woodpecker, white-tailed ant thrush, yellow-billed duck, African black duck, red-billed teal, Angolan swallow, mountain buzzard, and white-backed duck.
In the evening you will transfer to Kasese for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Hiking on Mount Rwenzori. Nyakalengija (1600m)-Nyabitaba hut (2660m)
In the morning, you will have your breakfast and head to the Rwenzori Park headquarters where you will be briefed about your 3-day Rwenzori hike to John Matte.
After here, you will start your hike from Nyakalengija through the Bakonzo settlements to the Rwenzori National Park gate for registration, before entering the park. You will hike through the dense tropical forest, coupled with high elephant grass and lush bushes.
This forest is home to various animal species among others; forest elephants, chimpanzees, hyrax, black-and-white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, duiker, and three-horned chameleons.
You may also have chances to spot bird species like; Handsome Francolin, Rwenzori Turaco, Long-eared Owl, Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Strange Weaver, Archers’ Robin-chat, Rwenzori Batis, and many other tree and plant species. You will expect to see some of them.
It’s about 8km from Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba hut.
Dinner and overnight at Nyabitaba hut.
Day 11: Hike from Nyabitaba hut (2660m)-John Matte hut (3420m)
Wake up early for a delicious breakfast treat, after that, you will trek through verdant shrubs and forest for approximately 30 minutes to the Kurt Schuffer Bridge which is at the confluence of the Mubuku and Bujuku rivers. You will continue trekking through the bamboo mixed with montane forests and slippery moss-covered rocks for a couple of hours. As you hike you might spot several bird species that inhabit the forest.
You will continue to move up to Nyamulejju rock shelter where the first hikers used to at times camp and also spend the night. You also have a lunch break at this point, while enjoying the spectacular views of the magnificent Mount Stanley and Mount Speke if the weather is clear.
You will then continue to move through the alpine forest to John Matte's hut where you will have dinner and a restful night.
The hut is near river Bujuku and most hikers take a bath there, the water is so cold but so refreshing as well. You will also have a view of the Margherita glacier which is on Mount Stanley between Alexandra and Margherita peaks.
Nyabitabah to John Matte is approximately 11km.
Day 12: Descend back to Nyakalengija.
After breakfast at John Matte, you will descend back to Nyabitaba, then to Nyakalengija for relaxing and resting at Ruboni community camp.
Day 13: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After your breakfast, you will drive to Fort Portal for a city tour to the king's palace as well as visit Amabere Caves, also known as the “Amabere ga Nyina wire” which translates to “Breasts of Nyinamwiru” which are caves named after ancient folklore where a local king had his daughter’s breasts cut off to make her less attractive to men. The King’s plan failed, and his daughter got pregnant. He then hid her in a cave, or so legend has it. Visiting the Amabere caves gives tourists a chance to check out the waterfalls and three nearby crater lakes. Many colobus monkeys can also be seen around.
Then proceed to Crater Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day14: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park
In the morning after breakfast. Pack your lunch then Go to the park headquarters for registration, and briefing and assign a park guide or ranger, as well as group with other trackers.
You will start the trek to the forest where you will be able to see different forest animals, primates like the red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, grey-checked mangabey, and as well as birds, locating the chimpanzees may take some hours but spotting them, will be allowed to spend four hours with them studying their behaviors, taking pictures as the chimps interact, play, feed and mate.
In the afternoon, connect for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary, where you will get to enjoy walking through a wetland with a variety of bird species and primates.
Later in the evening return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight
Day 15: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
In the morning, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and embark on an 8-hour journey through beautiful scenery, landscapes, farmlands, local markets, and communities to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have stopovers for lunch and washrooms.
On arrival at Murchison Falls, you will drive to the top of the falls where you will enjoy the beautiful scenery, and water splashes, and listen to the roars of the waterfall among others.
Check-in at the Pakuba lodge, relax, and prepare for tomorrow's activities.
Day 16: fully day game drive
Early in the morning, you will go for a sunrise game drive that offers astonishing views of the sunrise and mammals including the Buffaloes, Jackson hartebeests, Elephants, Antelopes, Lions, Kobs, Giraffes, Hyenas, Bushbucks, and Warthogs among others spread all over the Savannah grasslands, actively grazing or hunting for prey. This makes the park’s landscape so amazing for game drives.
In the evening go for a game drive along the shores of Lake Albert which will give vistas of the African sunset and aquatic animals like a school of hippos and colorful birds. Late at 7:00 a.m., you will spot several nocturnal like lions, leopards, hyenas, and wild dogs coming out from the bush to actively go hunting for their prey.
Day 17: Morning Boat cruise and hike to the top of the falls.
In the morning at 8:30, you will take your breakfast and get prepared for a captivating morning boat cruise along the mighty river Nile that will give unique views of the fascinating mighty Murchison Falls and magnificent sceneries and also spotting the Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, and multiple wildlife like buffaloes, elephants, giraffes and bird species like the Shoebill stork on the shores of the river.
On arriving at the bottom of the falls, you do a 30-minute hike to the top of the falls where you will witness the Nile waters forcing themselves into a narrow 7m gorge with a rumbling sound and cascades causing a splash of misty droplets from the bottom to the top of the falls that offers unbelievable experience.

Day 18: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After taking your breakfast in the morning, you will check out of the lodge, meet your driver guide, and embark on the 8-hour journey to Kidepo Valley National Park; you will have stopovers for lunch and great views of the beautiful scenery, landscapes, farmlands local markets and communities.

Day 19: Full-day wildlife viewing
Early in the morning after taking your breakfast, you will go on a sunrise game drive in the Narus Valley which has vast grassland, and rolling plains amongst the distant views of mountains and hills. In the Narus Valley, you will get spectacular views of the Narus River which attracts large concentrations of animals like buffaloes, tigers, Giraffes, Kobs, Cheetahs, waterbucks, lions, and hippos.
In the afternoon, you will have a game drive through the Kidepo valley while exploring the dry Kidepo with white sand bed with ecstatic views of the Ostrich bird, Kangoni, hyenas, eland, jackal, leopards, and elephants as well as visit the Kanangorok hot springs
In the late evening at 7:00 AM, go for a night game drive with a ranger that will capture the sunset as well as the nocturnal like lions, Cheetah, tigers, hyenas, wild dogs, tigers, leopards actively hunting for prey.
Day 20: Cultural experience & transfer to Mount Moroto
The day 20 of your adventure, you will have a cultural tour and community visit to the Karamojong people who reside near Kidepo Valley National Park.
During the cultural tour, you will interact with the local people in the community which allows you to know more about the lifestyle, and culture where you can marry many wives depending on the number of cattle you own, learn about their way of living, visit their homesteads, and enjoy traditional dance performances with melody songs among others.
After taking Lunch, you will drive through the plateaus, farmlands, and indigenous communities to Mount Moroto and check in at the lodge, relax, and prepare for a hike
Day 21: Hiking to the top of Mount. Moroto
You will meet your local guides and rangers early in the morning and embark on an invigorating hike on the footpath behind the health center, walking on a flat expanse of homesteads and sunflower fields, through the mountain’s ridges, and exposed granite walls and steadily beginning climbing up the first ridge, passing terraced homesteads rife with colorful flowers, watching your ankles for loose rocks and roots.
The Mt. Moroto epic takes you to explore the rugged beautiful landscape of Karamoja through national parks, cliffs, river streams, and culturally rich and colorful homesteads and people
While hiking, you will encounter over 220 bird species, monkeys, and wild cats, with spectacular cliffs, and on the summit peak of the mountain, you get Panoramic views of the Karamoja region and beyond as well as witness glorious sunsets and sunrise.
At the peak, you will pitch your tent on the designated campsite on the ridge for an overnight stay.
Day 22: Descend to the foothills of the mountain.
After watching the sunset and then rising with the expanse of Karamoja below you, enjoy the misty morning. Have a cup of coffee or tea around the fire, pack up your tents, and shoulder your packs.
Enjoy the relatively fast scramble and descend to Kodonyo for approximately 2 – 3 hours, waving at the people you passed the day before.
Then transfer to Mount Elgon through outstanding landscapes and local communities.
Day 23: hiking Sipi fall
You will have breakfast in the morning and embark on a strenuous and often muddy hike to an elevation of 1775m. The captivating hike to the three majestic falls will fade away your worries and woes from your life and release new ones.
The adrenaline-pumping hike through farmlands and local communities crossing rivers in the rugged terrain until the cascade sound of water surrounds you with all your senses active, the unstoppable excitement brings you joyful tears in your eyes on reaching the top of the falls with ecstatic and scenic views of Lake Kyoga, the Karamoja low lands, coffee plantations, and other countryside.
Day 24: Transfer to Jinja
You will have a cozy breakfast at the hotel, after which you will go for a 3-4-hour drive to Jinja from Sipi Falls through captivating landscapes and communities. On arriving in Jinja; you will have lunch in Jinja City and then visit the source of the Nile.
A unique boat ride to the charming source point will make you experience the magical eye-catching surface movement of water from Lake Victoria entering the gigantic river Nile as you enjoy nature, mesmerizing sounds of water, and wild water waves.
In the evening, you will visit the Speke Monument in the gardens of Living Waters Resort which holds a strong historical significance about the source of the Nile.
Thereafter check in at Lemala Wild Waters Lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 25: Do Bungee Jumping in the morning and a Sundowner boat cruise at the Nile.
After having your breakfast in the morning, you will go for a fun and adventurous Bungee Jumping that will spice up your Uganda adventure safari from a 44m cliff tied with a rope in the open air as you immerse your selves in the Nile waters.
Then you will go for an optional tubing along the Nile or kayaking on the white-water rapids while sunbathing, marveling at the birds, and also exposing you to incredible landscapes and lush green forests among others.
Day 26: Do Horse riding in the morning and white water rafting late afternoon.
You will have breakfast in the morning and then go for a captivating Horse ride along the Nile through magnificent landscapes and local communities with panoramic views of stunning vegetation, valleys, and hills while experiencing the countryside.
Day 27: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe
After having your delicious breakfast, you will drive to Kampala through fascinating towns and communities. Depending on the time of your flight, you may have a private city tour/ Lake Victoria tour. Unfortunately, the Uganda adventure tour has come to an end.
