I fell in love with New York the moment I set foot here. It's been over 30 years now. I love this city so much that I became an NYC tour guide. After University, I lived for three years in London and Paris - and then returned to my home town where I have been enjoying my work in Tourism and Hospitality ever since. I have lead groups, both large and small, that include students, adults, business professionals, and retirees from the U.S. and abroad. I have family roots in New York City stretching back over a hundred years, mirroring the classic immigrant experience from Ellis Island to the Lower East Side. This background has inspired an ongoing quest for the best of the city past and present, from the suspension cables of the Brooklyn Bridge to the hot pastrami at Katz’s deli. I moved from the depths of Jersey to Manhattan’s Morningside Heights at 18 for college and have since split his time between Tel Aviv and New York City. After college I worked in finance before heading back to school in Israel to study for an MA in Archeology from Bar Ilan University. As a native New Yorker the constant thread through my years of NYC living has been a great love for my hometown and the values we embody. This led me to get a sightseeing license and share my passion by running and performing my own creation for the past 3 years : Downtown Sightseeing Theater. Not only do I get to show off areas of Manhattan most people (especially New Yorkers) don't normally go to, but I get to exercise my creative and theatrical muscles. “Great Way to Explore the City”
It was my adult daughter's first time in NYC and while I know the City, I thought a tour might be a good way to orient her to the City. It was fun, educational and helped us know how to move around the City. Julia is a true New Yorker who knows, the institutions, history and culture of this great City. She is responsive to requests and had great ideas of how to share the City's delights and treasures. I highly recommend her as a tour guide.
