Another traditional pastry shop that offers a beautiful selection of Strudel (and dozens of cakes!)
Aida is a family business, still run by the owners after more than 100 years. The shops are famous for their pink interior and small samples of cakes as well as excellent coffee.
At the corner of St. Stephan's Square there is a small shop of Manner's, the producers of wafers, chocolates, and other sweets. On their famous pink packages one can find the cathedral as the company's logo.
One of the most traditional and oldest coffeehouses in Vienna is located next to several places where Mozart spent some of his time.
Demel's is on the oldest pastry shops in Vienna and always worth a visit, even when not eating cake. The shop is still decorated in the style of the late 19th century and gives an impression of what life was like around 1900.
Located next to the Opera House, Gerstner's has a long standing history as a pastry shop in Vienna and as the official caterer at the Opera House since the beginning in 1867. On the famous second floor one can find the most representative rooms of the Todesco residence and enjoy a selection of cakes.

I was born and raised in Vienna, however traveling, foreign countries and foreign languages have always been my passion. Therefore I studied languages, became a teacher for several years and finally made traveling my main occupation. After traveling in Europe for several years, I became a licensed tourist guide in Austria. I wanted to meet people from other countries in my hometown and show them its glorious past, wonderful pastry shops and tell them quirky details about members of the Imperial family. Vienna has a very obvious, beautiful side along the Ringstrasse, but also more hidden back streets, small alleys, courtyards and lots of less well-known stories. Vienna was once the capital city of a huge empire, nowadays it is the capital city of a small country. The glorious past is still visible, but there is also modern day Vienna that offers a good quality of life and many green spaces, especially in the old town. A large number of places worth seeing can be reached during a walking tour. Palaces, passion, art, music. . you name it and we will experience it together.
