Meeting Point
Guest’s hotel lobby or a convenient central pickup point in Dhaka
- Meeting at the guest’s hotel lobby or a convenient central pickup point in Dhaka (Gulshan/Banani/Baridhara/Dhanmondi area recommended). Exact pickup location and driver/guide coordination will be confirmed after booking. Please be ready at the meeting time and keep a reachable phone/WhatsApp number (2 days before the tour).
Breakfast Stop
Start the day with breakfast at a clean, reputable local restaurant. This is a good time to settle in after pickup, discuss interests (history, photography, food, markets, river life), confirm walking pace, and review the plan for the day. Breakfast options can include popular Bangladeshi choices along with tea/coffee. Practical notes such as restroom stops, short breaks, and how to handle crowds in Old Dhaka will be covered here so the rest of the tour runs smoothly.
Old Dhaka Morning Walk
Explore Old Dhaka in the morning when the light is beautiful and the streets feel more atmospheric. Walk through narrow lanes and lively neighborhoods to observe daily life, local shops, small workshops, and traditional markets coming to life. This part focuses on the “real Old Dhaka” feeling: rickshaws, street scenes, old buildings, and local interactions. Plenty of photo opportunities and short stops are included, and stories will be shared about how this area developed over time and why it remains the most historic part of the city.
Lalbagh Fort
Visit Lalbagh Fort, one of Dhaka’s most famous Mughal-era sites. Walk through the fort area, gardens, and key structures while hearing the background story, architecture highlights, and the historical significance of the Mughal period in Bengal. Time will be given for photos and a relaxed pace. Entry tickets (if applicable) are purchased on-site. This stop provides a strong “heritage architecture” anchor for the tour and helps guests understand Old Dhaka beyond just street scenes.
Ahsan Manzil Area
Explore the Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace) area and surrounding old city atmosphere. This stop highlights the legacy of Dhaka’s Nawabs and the evolution of the city during the colonial period. The focus is on architecture, riverside city history, and excellent photo opportunities. Depending on opening conditions and time, the visit may include the museum exterior/entry (ticket on-site if applicable) and a walk around the nearby streets to experience more of Old Dhaka’s classic environment.
Lunch in Old Dhaka
Enjoy a proper Old Dhaka lunch at a well-known, clean, halal-friendly restaurant. The meal focuses on the city’s most famous local flavors, including mutton biryani and kabab. The restaurant will be chosen for hygiene and comfort, and dietary preferences can be discussed in advance. This is a relaxing break from walking, with time to recharge before the afternoon portion. Guests can also ask questions about Bangladeshi food culture, spices, and local dining etiquette.
Old Dhaka Heritage Streets & Markets
Continue deeper into Old Dhaka’s traditional streets and bazaars to see crafts, local trade, and old neighborhoods with unique character. This part is ideal for guests who enjoy authentic street life, photography, and culture. The walk may include areas known for traditional architecture and community life, and there will be chances to stop for small observations and photos without rushing. If guests are interested, short explanations will be given about local businesses, how the markets work, and how Old Dhaka continues to support thousands of families through trade and craftsmanship.
Buriganga Riverfront / Sadarghat Area
Visit the Buriganga riverfront area to understand the role of the river in Dhaka’s history and daily life. This area is busy and energetic, showing river transport, local movement, and a different side of the old city. It’s a great spot for photos and for experiencing the atmosphere from a safe viewpoint. If conditions are suitable and guests want it, an optional short local boat ride can be discussed, but this will depend on comfort, timing, and safety considerations on the day.
Dhaka University Campus & Cultural Area
End the day in the Dhaka University area, which often feels lively in the late afternoon and evening. Walk through key campus surroundings to see the city’s cultural heart, student life, and social atmosphere. This part is more relaxed compared to Old Dhaka lanes and provides a nice contrast: open spaces, conversation, and a calmer walk. If any cultural activities are happening nearby, time can be spent enjoying the public atmosphere. This is a good closing section of the tour for guests who want to feel Dhaka’s modern cultural spirit after the heritage-heavy Old Dhaka experience.
Ending Point
Drop-off at the guest’s hotel or a convenient location in Dhaka city (same as pickup area), around 5:30–6:00 PM depending on traffic and pace.

3. Old Dhaka can be crowded, noisy, and busy. Extra care is needed for phones, wallets, and personal belongings.
4. Some areas have limited vehicle access, so short walks are required even if transport is arranged.
5. Dress modestly (cover shoulders and knees) as the tour includes heritage and culturally sensitive areas.
6. Weather can be hot and humid. Bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses/hat, and an umbrella or raincoat in monsoon season.

13. Inside Old Dhaka, because many roads are narrow, moving from one spot to another will be done mainly by rickshaw (the most popular local transport in Dhaka) and walking short distances.

Panam city tour The oldest capital in Bangladesh
Panam Nagar traces its origins to the 13th century. Once a thriving commercial center, it declined in the 17th century following the relocation of the capital from Sonargaon. Sonargao Museum is one of the old capitals of the historic region of Bengal and was an administrative center of eastern Bengal. It was also a riverport. Its hinterland was the center of the muslin trade in Bengal, with a large population of weavers and artisans.
