Meeting Point

Museo bellas artes ( main entrance)

- Meeting Point: Museo de Bellas Artes (Main Entrance) We’ll start our day at the beautiful Museo de Bellas Artes, located in the heart of downtown Santiago. I’ll be waiting for you at the main entrance, ready to kick off a fun and flavorful journey through the city.

10:20 AM

Vega Central

Arrival at La Vega Central

From there, we’ll walk together to La Vega Central, the largest and most iconic food market in Santiago — and truly the heart of this tour. This is where you’ll dive into the real flavors of Chile. Surrounded by the vibrant energy of the market, you’ll get to taste and discover exotic fruits, colorful vegetables, and local products that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

As we explore, I’ll introduce you to some of my favorite vendors, share the stories behind the ingredients, and explain how these unique foods are used in Chilean culture. It’s an amazing opportunity to connect with the essence of Santiago through its people, traditions, and flavors.

Whether it’s your first time tasting a chirimoya or hearing about the secrets of Chilean merken, this stop will awaken your senses and fill you with curiosity (and a few delicious bites too). Come hungry, because this part is all about tasting, learning, and having fun!

11:40 AM

Lunch Break at the best restaurant in town

Lunch Break: A Taste of Chilean Cuisine

After exploring the vibrant colors and flavors of La Vega, it’s time to sit down, relax, and enjoy a well-deserved lunch in one of the best local restaurants in Santiago. This is more than just a meal — it’s where everything we saw at the market comes to life on the plate.

You’ll get to taste traditional Chilean dishes made with the same fresh ingredients we just explored: think rich stews, perfectly seasoned meats, fresh salads, and native spices like merken. Each bite tells a story of the land, the people, and the traditions behind it.

This part of the experience is all about celebrating flavor and enjoying good company. I’ll help guide you through the menu, share recommendations, and explain how the ingredients are used in our cuisine. Whether you’re trying pastel de choclo for the first time or sipping a refreshing mote con huesillo, lunch will be a joyful discovery of Chilean identity through food.

Vegetarian or have dietary needs? No worries! the menu has options for everyone

12:30 AM

Plaza de armas ( main square)

Cultural Walk to Plaza de Armas

After lunch, we’ll enjoy a pleasant walk through the historic heart of Santiago. On the way to Plaza de Armas — the city's main square — I’ll guide you through some of the most significant "firsts" in Chilean history. You’ll see the first train station, the first bar, the first market, and our very first cathedral, each with its own story and charm.

This short but rich walk offers a deeper look at the roots of Santiago, blending daily life with cultural heritage. Along the way, I’ll also take you to a local jewelry gallery where you can find authentic Lapiz Lazuli, Chile’s iconic blue gemstone. It’s a wonderful opportunity to take home a real souvenir at local prices, often half the cost of what you’d pay in tourist shops or at the airport.

I’ll point out where to go, what to look for, and share a bit about the significance of this beautiful stone, which is found only in Chile and Afghanistan. It’s a small detour, but one that guests absolutely love — unique, affordable, and meaningful.

Once we reach Plaza de Armas, we’ll explore the square and its surroundings, where the city’s past and present meet in a lively mix of architecture, people, and culture.
