Meeting Point

Jinka Airport

- Please provide your flight schedule when you book this tour.

Day 1 : Jinka-Mursi-Turmi

•Morning: Visit the Mursi tribe in Mago National Park (famous for lip plates and unique body decorations).

•Afternoon: Drive through the Banna area, stop for encounters with Banna stick-fighting boys (Donga game) if available.

•Continue to Turmi (Hamer tribe area).

•Evening: Visit a Hamer village, experience their daily life and cultural traditions.

•Overnight: Turmi at Buska lodge

Day 2 : Turmi – Karo – Hamer

•Morning: Drive to the Karo tribe by the Omo River (renowned for body painting and scarification).

•Afternoon: Return to Turmi and visit Hamer tribe villages again; if lucky, attend a bull-jumping ceremony (initiation rite).

•Overnight: Turmi at Buska lodge

Day 3: Turmi – Arbore – Konso

•Morning: Drive to the Arbore tribe (known for their distinctive black clothing, beads, and hairstyles).

•Afternoon: Continue to Konso – UNESCO World Heritage site, terraced landscapes, and cultural villages.

•Visit a Konso village to learn about their clan systems and traditional community life.

•Overnight: Konso

Day 4: Konso – Dorze (Chencha)

•Morning: Explore more of Konso villages and their traditional stone-walled settlements.

•Drive towards Chencha (Dorze villages) in the highlands.

•Afternoon: Visit Dorze tribe, famous for their tall beehive-shaped bamboo huts, weaving traditions, and false-banana bread (Kocho).

•Overnight: Dorze

Day 5: Arbaminch – Lake Chamo

•Morning: Take a boat trip on Lake Chamo, see hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

•Afternoon: Return to Arbaminch town, relax, and prepare for onward journey (flight from Arbaminch Airport or drive back to Addis).

This route lets you experience Mursi, Banna, Hamer, Karo, Arbore, Konso, Dorze tribes, plus Lake Chamo within 5 days, starting from Jinka and ending in Arbaminch.
