Alternatively we could spend the whole day in the medieval town Porvoo, perhaps having lunch at the beautiful Haikko Manor. Walking on the cobbled streets of Old Town Porvoo will take you back in time. The Finnish national composer, Jean Sibelius, lived in Tuusula and his former home, called Ainola, is today a museum. It's only a 30 min drive from the city and open during summer. When you want to see Finnish design and architecture, I am your guide. Jyvaskyla in Central Finland is the capitol of Alvar Aalto’s architecture which I’d love to show you. The drive by car is 4 hours from Helsinki, or 3 hrs 30 min by train.
