Meeting Point
Cinéma Rialto
- Meet outside cinéma Rialto an art déco 1930’s cinema, receive a brief summary about Casablanca’s architectural history and its evolution into a culinary hub.
Marché central
Proceed to Marché Central (Central Market) where you can try a freshly grilled or fried Atlantic fish seasoned with traditional chermoula spices.
Snack shop
A bakery stall to taste msemem (flaky, square flatbread) stuffed with olives.
The Old Medina
Proceed into the old medina through bab Marrakech (Marrakech gate) where you can pause at a dedicated street vendor to brave a bowl of snails boiled in a fragrant, medicinal 15-herbs broth.
The labyrinth
Wandering through the alleys of the old medina to taste Moroccan olives, dates and dried figs.
The bakery
Kaab ghzal, Ghriba and Feqqas are the most popular pastries that are made for special occasions
Hole in the wall
Pull up a chair at a local counter for a deeply comforting bowl of Harira (Tomato, lentil and chickpea soup).
The donut shop
Try a bite of Moroccan donut
The last eating place.
Gather for the final sit-down tasting of the day: a platter of deeply aromatic Rfissa (shredded msemem with chicken, lentils and fenugreek sauce).

* Extra food and drinks: Please bring $30 if you would like to purchase larger portions or extra snacks beyond the included tastings.
* Taxi fees: Approximately $20 (cash) if you choose to take a Taxi back to your hotel after the tour ends.
Personal expenses: Cash for gifts, souvenirs or local shopping.
Tour Important Information
Walking: Expect a lot of walking; wear good shoes.
Health: Not advised for people with severe back or knee problems.
Access: Not ccessible for wheelchairs.
Food: Tell the guide ahead of time if you have food allergies or special dietary needs.
This tour will be closed during Ramadan as most of traditional medina food stalls close completely during daylight hours. For Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, almost all local shop owners take a well-deserved multi-day break to celebrate with their families.
