Bhaktapur: A Day of Culture and History
Bhaktapur City, a mysterious place rich in history, is filled with ancient houses built by the Malla kings during the medieval period. Our visit begins at the main Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its stunning palaces, temples, and courtyards that showcase the artistry and culture of the Newar community. Next, we will visit Dattatreya Square, famous for the Dattatreya Temple, which is believed to have been built from a single tree and symbolizes the unity of Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Following that, we will explore Taumadhi Square, home to the five-story Nyatapola Temple, the tallest pagoda in Nepal, reflecting the pinnacle of Newari architecture and craftsmanship. Lastly, we will visit Pottery Square, where traditional pottery techniques are still practiced, highlighting the rich artisanal heritage of Bhaktapur. Each square offers a unique glimpse into the vibrant history, religion, and culture of this ancient city.

In Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the main attractions we will see include the 55-Window Palace, the Golden Gate, the Vatsala Temple, and various intricately carved temples and statues. This UNESCO World Heritage site showcases stunning Newari architecture and is a key cultural and historical landmark.
Dattatreya Square:
We will see the Dattatreya Temple, which is believed to be made from a single tree and symbolizes the unity of the Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. It is a holy and significant site in Bhaktapur.
Taumadhi Square:
We will see the Nyatapola Temple, the tallest pagoda in Nepal, showcasing five stories of intricate carvings and reflecting the pinnacle of Newari architecture. It is a revered and iconic landmark.
Pottery Square:
We will see traditional pottery-making in action, where artisans create various clay products using age-old techniques. This square is a vibrant hub of Bhaktapur's rich artisanal heritage.
