Casa de los Tres Mundos is a colonial-era cultural center on Plaza de los Leones in Granada, built in 1720 inside the historic Casa de los Leones — named for the carved stone lions on its doorway, the only original part to survive an 1856 fire. It houses art galleries, a historical archive, and a café, and hosts concerts, dance, and cultural events.

Iglesia La Merced is a colonial church in Granada, built in 1534 and rebuilt several times since. Its bell tower is the main draw — climbers get sweeping views over the city's red-tiled rooftops, the Cathedral, Lake Nicaragua, and Mombacho Volcano, best around sunset.

Fortaleza La Pólvora — Visit this 1748 Spanish fortress at the edge of the old city, with a small museum and sweeping views over Granada's rooftops to Lake Nicaragua. (20 Minutes)

Fortaleza La Pólvora, originally called Fortaleza de Armas, was built between 1748 and 1749 to defend Granada against pirate raids coming through the Pacific bays and Lake Nicaragua. This lavishly turreted Spanish fortress still has the best views in town, over ancient, water-stained church domes all the way to Lago de Nicaragua, and there's a small museum inside. Over the centuries, it also served as a barracks and, at times, a prison, before becoming the museum it is today.

Mirador de Catarina — Panoramic viewpoint over Laguna de Apoyo's crater lake, with Mombacho Volcano and Lake Nicaragua in the distance; artisan shops and local food nearby. (40 Minutes)

Mirador de Catarina sits atop one of the highest points in the town of Catarina, part of the Pueblos Blancos corridor near Masaya. From the lookout you get views of the Laguna de Apoyo crater lake (formed roughly 23,000 years ago), plus Mombacho Volcano, the Isletas de Granada, and Lake Nicaragua on a clear day. The site is lined with artisan shops, flower nurseries, and food stalls, with live marimba music typical of the atmosphere.

Masaya Volcano National Park — Visit the volcano museum, hike the short Comalito Trail past active fumaroles, and view Santiago Crater, the "mouth of hell."

Masaya Volcano National Park is Nicaragua's oldest and largest national park, home to two volcanoes (Masaya and Nindirí) and five craters. The complex includes an informational museum on volcanic activity and the short, easy Comalito Trail (about 1–2 km) leading past active fumaroles with views over the park's flora and lava fields. The visit culminates at Santiago Crater, historically called "the mouth of hell" by the Spanish, and one of the few places in the world with a visible lava lake.
