Edgar T.
Hi, I'm Edgar! I'm a licensed private guide, history graduate, and lifelong Panamanian passionate about helping visitors discover the real Panama. I've had the pleasure of guiding thousands of travelers from more than 40 countries, and one thing I've learned is that no two travelers are alike. That's why every experience I offer is 100% private and customized around your interests, pace, and travel style. Whether you want to visit the Panama Canal, explore the history of Casco Viejo, spot wildlife in the rainforest, discover authentic local food, learn about Indigenous cultures, or even explore neighborhoods if you're considering relocating to Panama, I'll create an experience designed just for you. Why travel with me? • Licensed by the Panama Tourism Authority • History graduate from Trent University (Canada) • Master's Degree in International Commerce from Universidad Isabel I (Spain) • Fluent in English, Spanish, and French • First Aid certified by the Red Cross • Proud member of the Panama Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture Having lived in five countries and traveled to more than 30, I understand what international travelers value most and enjoy sharing Panama from a genuine local perspective. My tours are relaxed, flexible, and never scripted. I don't believe in rushing from one attraction to another just to check off a list. Instead, I want you to experience Panama in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and personal. I also believe my job doesn't end when the tour does. Whether you need restaurant recommendations, itinerary ideas, or practical local advice, I'm always happy to help. Think of me as your local contact in Panama—not just your guide for the day. When I'm not guiding, I enjoy history, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and cheering for my beloved San Francisco 49ers. I'd love the opportunity to show you the Panama that locals know and love. I look forward to meeting you!

“Excellent tour with Mario ”
We arranged a tour with Mario. He was very good about introducing himself, and confirming all the details, as part of the booking process. In our case, we requested to tweak the standard tour slightly, and he was very accommodating of that as well. Our first stop was the Panama Canal. Usually the IMAX movie and the ship transit do not overlap. They are staggered so one can do both. But in our case, they did, due to a delay in ship arrival. Mario stood at the locks’ observation deck, saving our places, so we could catch part of the movie. As the ships got nearer, he texted us so we could come out of the theater to see the ship transit. It turned out we still missed the first part of the ship transit (the initial opening of the lock gates) because it took us longer than expected to walk from the theater back to the observation deck. But Mario took a video of it, so we could still see it. Then he got us back into the movie to catch the rest of it. Mario was also flexible about the rest of the tour, spending more or less time here or there according to our wishes. Highly recommend him.
