Our adventure we'll take into an in- depth exploration of this area we will camp, hike the crater's rim and visit many of its attractions. Plaza Herrera at Casco Antiguo
- You'll be picked up at Plaza Herrera, the only square with a horserider monument
DAY 1 - Panama City- Anton Valley
We'll drive across the Pan-American Highway enjoy Panama countryside landscapes until taking the turn off to the Anton Valley, a 26 kilometers winding road that as it reaches altitude little by little will uncover breathtaking mountain views.
Hiking the Sleeping Indian Woman
Upon arrival, we'll install our tents a the camping site, and then we'll explore Anton Valley by hiking two hills: The Sleeping Indian woman hill ( La India Dormida) a woman shaped hill located at 2400ft.(800 m.) above sea level. it provide views from the western side of the crater's rim.
Lunch at a Local Restaurant
We'll visit a local restaurant to have a taste of the local cuisine. - (L)
El Valle Hotsprings Center
We'll visit the hotsprings at the Anton Valley, this venue allow us to understand the volcanic activity. You'll have the chance to relax at the thermal waters' pool and enjoy its therapeutic properties.
Return to Camp and Dinner
In the evening we'll have dinner at our Campsite.(D)
DAY 2 - Hiking Cariguana Hill
We'll start the morning at The Cariguana hill ( Iguana Face Hill) a hill located at 2700 ft ( 900 m) above sea level on the southern end of the volcano's rim, its dirt road take you to the top, from there we'll be able to see the Pacific Ocean Coast. (B)
Anton Valley's Visitor Center
This is a place where visitors can interact with educational exhibits, watch a short film celebrating the local landscape, and purchase a souvenir on the way out. It is an experience for both tourists and locals who want to learn a little more about everything that makes El Valle unique and special.
El Valle Butterfly Haven
In this butterfly farm you will have the opportunity to learn about the great variety of butterflies that live in El Valle. After a brief educational talk you can go to their habitat, where you can walk among hundreds of butterflies.
Lunch at a Local Restaurant
We'll have a taste of the local cuisine by stoping at a restaurant in town for lunch.(L)
El Valle Amphibian Conservation Center
This center is run by a Panamanian non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of amphibians that are in danger of extinction, including the famous golden frog. The mission of this foundation is to conserve amphibians, educate the public on how they can help, and raise awareness about the plight of frogs throughout the world.
Return to Campsite - Dinner
In the evening we'll have dinner at our Campsite.
DAY 3 - Cerro Gaital Nature Monument
We'll start the day with another hike, this time at the Cerro Gaital Nature Monument a short trail will allow to explore the Cloud Forest and take us to a lookout providing a wonderful view of the Anton Valley. (B)
Return to Panama City
We'll pack our tents and after lunch, we'll leave the Anton Valley to Panama City. End of services. (L)
