At your hotel
We’ll meet you at your hotel in Cusco, if it is close enough to the center we will walk but if needed we can provide private transport instead.
In the center we first visit the Plaza de Armas to explore the beautiful cathedral and watch the locals and tourists in the vibrant heart of the city. Take some time to soak up this unique atmosphere, learn about the city’s local history, and admire its beautiful architecture.
We continue walking the ancient cobbled streets of the Inca Empire historic capital to Coricancha, where we will visit the Temple of the Sun. Here your expert guide will explain a bit more about the rich history and culture including the different building methods used by the Incas, and the clashes with Catholicism.
Our private transport will take us on a short scenic ride to the site of Tambomachay, an Inca archaeological site located just outside Cusco. We explore it together.
Our transport takes us here next. Q'enqo is considered one of the biggest holy places in area around Cusco. Carved surface of massive rock formation is especially impressive, and is source of many theories of what exactly it represented to the Inca culture. This is the second archaeological site we will explore together.
We drive to the third and most impressive archaeological site near Cusco: a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city. Entry to this UNESCO World Heritage-listed archaeological site is included. As you walk around with your private guide exploring each ruin, you’ll gain a better understanding of the citadel’s history and purpose. Admire the perfect constructions, designs and shapes built by the Incas and the symbolism behind them.
We finish the tour back in Cusco's main square. Why not sample some delicious street food? Our local guide will take pride in sharing with you how to continue on your own to experience the city, including the best museums to visit, where to get a relaxing massage or do some shopping, where to eat, sample Pisco Sours or enjoy some live music in the evening.

During weekends I’m usually at Machu Picchu now so we can discuss that too. Middle of the week I am in Cusco.
Hola! My name is Michael, but my friends call me Mike, so please do call me that too. I am a licensed tour guide in Peru with a degree in tourism and archaeology and a lot of passion for my culture and my country that I love sharing. This is why I love so much to be a guide and I am looking forward to welcoming you to my beautiful country to learn more about its incredible history and nature. With me, you are ensured to get a quality, authentic experience of the real Peru through the eyes of locals.
I was fortunate to be born and raised in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas. I have been working in tourism there for over 20 years, and during that time I have also hiked the Inca Trail professionally over 500 times! The Andes mountains are my home. I like meeting people from different parts of the world. I have traveled myself mostly all over South America but not much beyond. The tourists I am lucky enough to meet and assist also give me much back in terms of learning about other cultures and perspectives.
Since the start of this year I've been offering virtual tours in Cusco as well as Machu Picchu using a gimbal giving you the option to learn more about these magnificent places from the comfort of your couch. I like to share a lot of knowledge with virtual travelers to bring Cusco and Machu Picchu to life, but I also try to be as interactive as possible so that you feel like you're walking in these locations with me.
Hope to meet you soon!

Live Virtual Tour Machu Picchu Peru, New Wonder of the World
“Virtual Tour of Machu Picchu”
Wow! What an amazing experience! I booked this as an opportunity for our students to "travel" and learn about a place we are unable to visit in person. Michael did an excellent job on this tour. He created a truly unique educational experience for our students and families. I have received many notes of positive feedback stating how much they enjoyed this experience. Michael was communicative through the whole process ensuring that the tour would meet the needs of our group. He was patient as we worked through some technical difficulties on our end. I would 100% recommend this tour. Thank you Michael for bringing the beauty of Peru and Machu Picchu to our homes.
