Day Tour to Machu Picchu from Cusco by Panoramic Train

You will enjoy an unmatched and mesmerizing panoramic train journey, to one of the new 7 Wonders of the World! Your journey takes you from Cusco to Aguas Calientes in style through the Sacred Valley of the Inca. Leaving the wide valleys, you enter a narrow canyon and sub-tropical jungle near the Amazon as you approach the town Aguas Calientes. From here, you take the shuttle up to enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu with private guide.

Your hotel, Cusco - Start of the Tour
Today is your once in a lifetime visit to the majestic Machu Picchu! We pick you up at your Cusco hotel around 6am, and then drive in our private transport to the train station for your train. Enjoy an incredible 3.5 hour journey on the Vistadome train with panoramic windows as the road takes you through the beautiful Sacred Valley to the Cloud Jungle.
Aguas Calientes
The train arrives at the town closest to Machu Picchu, named Aguas Calientes. You will have a little time to get a sandwich or snack before going up to Machu Picchu on the shuttle bus (2,430mt/7972ft). Following in the ancient and remote footsteps of the Lost City of the Incas, your guide will give you the full tour, which takes over two hours. You will see all of the most important parts of Machu Picchu, including the Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Condor, Temple of Three Windows, Sun Dial, Quarry and the House of the Inca. There will be plenty of time for pictures.
Aguas Calientes return
Returning to Aguas Calientes, you will catch the early evening Vistadome train train back to Cusco.

Expected arrival back in Cusco, we will drop you back off at your hotel.

Hola! My name is Michael, but my friends call me Mike, so please do call me that too. I am a licensed tour guide in Peru with a degree in tourism and archaeology and a lot of passion for my culture and my country that I love sharing. This is why I love so much to be a guide and I am looking forward to welcoming you to my beautiful country to learn more about its incredible history and nature. With me, you are ensured to get a quality, authentic experience of the real Peru through the eyes of locals.
I was fortunate to be born and raised in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas. I have been working in tourism there for over 20 years, and during that time I have also hiked the Inca Trail professionally over 500 times! The Andes mountains are my home. I like meeting people from different parts of the world. I have traveled myself mostly all over South America but not much beyond. The tourists I am lucky enough to meet and assist also give me much back in terms of learning about other cultures and perspectives.
Since the start of this year I've been offering virtual tours in Cusco as well as Machu Picchu using a gimbal giving you the option to learn more about these magnificent places from the comfort of your couch. I like to share a lot of knowledge with virtual travelers to bring Cusco and Machu Picchu to life, but I also try to be as interactive as possible so that you feel like you're walking in these locations with me.

“Virtual Tour of Machu Picchu”
Wow! What an amazing experience! I booked this as an opportunity for our students to "travel" and learn about a place we are unable to visit in person. Michael did an excellent job on this tour.
