The Aliaga House is a colonial style building located in the historic center of Lima. The building would have been built on top of a huaca. The building dates back to May 1536 at the beginning of the foundation of the city. It belonged to Don Jeronimo de Aliaga y Ramirez. It was destroyed by the Lima Earthquake of 1746 and rebuilt by Juan José Aliaga y Sotomayor. In the nineteenth century a series of works were carried out, the original construction was made of quincha and adobe. The architecture is eclectic in style due to several changes made since its construction. The styles present are renaissance, mannerist, baroque or neoclassical. The current owner is Gonzalo Jorge de Aliaga Ascenzo, VIII Count of San Juan de Lurigancho.

Hi! I am Sandra, and I'm a local guide who has been taking travelers on sightseeing tours of Lima, Peru, since 2001. I love my job!
What makes my job so special, you ask? Well, first of all, I like the history of my country. We are blessed with such a rich heritage and fantastic history; I couldn't ask for a better story to tell! I love guiding because it gives me a very special feeling when I help people learn new things about Peru. Witnessing travelers' combination of amazement, excitement, and happiness is a constant reminder of why my job is so amazing. I also love meeting new people, and hearing about their stories while I share mine. Meeting people from all over the world is another one of the perks that I get out of being a sightseeing guide.
My tours are flexible, and open to customization. Please feel free to contact me to discuss.
Let me take you on a tour of my city. Let me make your traveling easy. Don't waste your time trying to figure the city out, I've already done that for you! I want to show you the meaning of "limeños, " and why we are so proud of being "Peruvians!"
