Lima Historic Center Walking Tour
We visit the historic center of Lima in a safe and fun way. We will observe the most important squares, the beautiful and old churches; In addition, we will observe the imposing colonial balconies, the Government Palace and the old train station. We will also visit the Central Reserve Bank Museum and the crafts market.
Meeting Point
Plaza San Martin
- Plaza San Martin is located at Lima Historic Center. It was created in honor of Don Jose de San Martin because He proclaimed the indpendence of Peru. I will waiting in the middle of the square with an umbrella.
Gran Hotel Bolivar
We will visit the great Bolívar hotel. Considered one of the best hotels in the entire history of Lima. Visited by many personalities of the 20th century such as presidents, singers, actors, among others; The Gran Hotel Bolivar is part of the history and culture of the city.
Jiron de la Union Street
The Jiron de la Union is the most famous street in the city. It is made up of more than 8 blocks connecting the Plaza Mayor of Lima with Plaza San Martin. We will observe old colonial facades and balconies.
La Merced Church
We will see the interior of this beautiful Church that belongs to the Mercedarians. Initially built in the 16th century, it has a beautiful baroque style façade made of granite.
Courret House (Esterior view)
Considered the first photographic studio in Lima, this beautiful Gaudi-style house belonged to a Frenchman named Mr. Courret and he built his famous house in 1865.
Central Reserve Bank
At the central reserve bank museum we can see exhibits of archaeological remains belonging to the Pre-Inca era. We will also visit the Golden Room of the Incas.
Plaza Mayor de Lima
The Plaza Mayor of Lima is the main tourist attraction of the city. In it we can find beautiful monuments such as the Government Palace, the Lima Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Union Club.
Taulichusco Rock
We will visit the monument to the Last Native Inca Authority. This Andean basal rock was brought from the city of Cusco with the intention of paying homage to Taulichusco.
Post Office
Built in 1895, the post and telegraph house became one of the most important buildings in the city. It operated until 1950.
Craft Market San Francisco
We arrive at the San Francisco Crafts Market, where we will find various local stores where you can purchase some souvenirs. We can also do a Pisco tasting.
