Hello, I’m Teague, a local Ketchikan, Alaska resident who is here to guide you on a hikes through the our world-renown rain forest. As a grad-school graduate with a newly minted M.F.A. in creative writing, I moved from Marquette, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula to Ketchikan, Alaska in the summer of 2009 in order to teach English and communication at the University of Alaska Southeast’s Ketchikan campus as a tenure-track assistant professor. I first experienced Ketchikan in the late 90s when I visited my younger sister who had moved out here, and I immediately jumped on the opportunity to hike the trails. There’s nothing more exciting than discovering a new trail, a new place. I grew up with two younger sisters and parents who were both teachers, so this meant we had the summers off to travel. We caravanned all over the United States with other families and bicycled toured, canoe camped, and backpacked into the wilderness. I’ve hiked the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee multiple times and many of the trails around the Great Lakes in Michigan and Canada—Pictured Rocks, Porcupine Mountains, the Bruce Trail, the North Country Pathway, Lake Superior Coastal Trail, and Agawa Canyon to name a few. I’ve also guided Northern Michigan University students on hikes as an English instructor in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as well as University of Michigan students in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and upstate Maine as part of the New England Literature Program. And now I’ve started a summer-season hiking tour business here. Feel free to ask me about mindfulness practices or how to protect our old-growth forests! I was the first generation of tour guides through Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah. When I worked at Big Bus Tours, I gave on a double decker bus up and down the Las Vegas strip and on Fremont Street. My current tour will take visitors through the Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitors will see archeological relics, as well as original manuscripts and erotic art going back centuries. I am certified with the Las Vegas Tourist Guides Guild.

Hello! My name is Kevin. I was born and raised in Texas and have lived in Utah off and on for seven years. I've lived in four countries, including China, Australia, and Hungary, and experienced many other amazing places around the world. Although a native Texan, my roots go deep in Utah, six generations back, to the pioneers who settled here in the mid-19th century. It is a beautiful and fascinating place. Utah should definitely be on your list of places to visit, not just for its natural wonders but also for its history. Despite being raised on stories of the pioneers, I didn't fall in love with the history, places, and stories of Utah until I lived in downtown Salt Lake City as a young college student. That's when I began to explore the city's streets and neighborhoods, which led to an appreciation of the historic architecture and stories of people who helped make Utah what it is today. And, I began to learn how my own ancestors fit in to the fabric of Utah's story. Utah has changed a lot since my ancestors moved here, growing from frontier settlements founded under the direction of a prophet to a tech hub drawing talent from around the globe to live within easy reach of outdoor recreation. I’d love to share the stories of the people and places that have impacted Utah with you on a tour of Salt Lake City or other nearby attractions. I was born in Fort Worth, Texas of a Texan father and a Scottish mother. I went to school in London and lived there most of my life so I speak with a British accent (but am American!) I worked as a tour guide, among other things, in London and, having lived in DC for ten years now, I have been giving many tours of the US capitol city for about seven of those years. People tend to think of politics when they think of DC and there is that element of course but it is also one of the world's most beautiful cities, with glorious architecture and art surrounding us on all sides, monuments and memorials to our history, lovely trees and flowers on wide boulevards. I have worked as a tour guide in Charles Dickens' home town, Rochester, Kent, England, led tours for the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, lectured for the National Arts Collection Fund (UK) and in DC I worked for more than a year as a guide on a hop-on hop-off tour bus company, I do fun ghost tours some nights, lead educational tours for middle school students , and lead tours of art museums in DC for various companies. I really believe in imparting information in a fun and entertaining way - I also work as a professional story-teller and our nation's capital has many stories to tell. We can work together before your tour to customize it to your interests, from seeing the outside of the White House and the historic buildings around it in Lafayette Square, to the noble Capitol building where the Congress meets and the world famous memorials such as the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the Viet Nam wall and others. I am very interested in art and architecture and have led many guided tours of the National Gallery of Art, the stunning Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institution Museums. I can also show you lesser known examples of amazing architecture such as the Willard Hotel, the National Building Museum and Union Station. I have done a lot of school tours and really enjoy relating to children, so families are very welcome! I am certified as a guide at the magnificent Washington National Cathedral, which requires rigorous training and testing before guides are allowed to lead tours there so I can tailor an itinerary to include this unforgettable sight.
