Bulgaria
Mihail R.
Hello! I would like to welcome you to Sofia and Bulgaria! Since 2008, I have organised a wide range of international events, including conferences, seminars, and official delegations' visits to the country. It is for this reason that I have started guiding. By doing this, I not only offer high-quality services but also share my passion for Bulgarian history, traditions, politics, and economics, as well as how Bulgarians are connected to the rest of the world. A few words about Sofia and Bulgaria: Sofia was a Roman provincial capital and played a significant role in the first centuries of Christianity. The city is situated along the Via Militaris (aka Via Diagonalis) from Antiquity through the twentieth century. In the fifteenth century, the Ottomans chose it as the capital of Rumelia, i.e., their Balkan provinces. For this institutional tradition, Sofia remained the capital of the re-established Bulgarian principality in 1879. Over the last 140 years, it has experienced economic and demographic expansion. You may discover all these historical facts and the enticing tastes of wine and rakia with me... Any of the tours I offer can be customised upon request, with visits to towns such as Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Samokov, Melnik, or the Rila Monastery, or a combination of these and many more, and can include religious sites, traditional restaurants, and limited-production wineries. I try to accommodate weekend tour requests because I have a full-time job during business days. The languages I offer tours in are English and Russian. I hold a tourist guide license issued by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria, valid for the territory of Bulgaria, and a standard unrestricted driving license (Bulgarian classification: Class B).

Romania
Tudor A.
Hello there :) I have been guiding for more than 12 years in cities as Bucharest, Sibiu, Brasov, Iasi and Ramnicu Valcea. Which show some of the most important objectives, folklore and important cultural details of Romania. I like to show not just the main sites but also, our main cultural identity with a bit of stand up through our history. Because without a bit of humour, history is a pretty lame & crude story. So join me to learn about romanian food, folklore, language and the main sites

South Korea
Carl J.
Would you like to walk through the streets of Seoul and experience Korea’s modern history? Hello, I’m Carl, a government-licensed English tour guide. I have also completed PhD coursework in Modern Korea–Japan Relations History. It’s my honor to present the Seoul Modern History Walking Tour, and I look forward to welcoming you. I’m sure we’ll have a meaningful—and enjoyable—time together. Seoul is a vibrant city filled with modern shopping districts and impressive skyscrapers, yet it still preserves traditional palaces and historic sites. It is truly a place where the past and present coexist. I offer two different types of tours. In one tour, I will show you a different side of the city—one rich with stories of diplomacy, reform, imperial change, and the foreign communities that shaped Seoul from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. In the other tour, I will explain how the Korean people’s aspirations for independence developed during the Japanese colonial period from the early to mid-20th century. Together, we will explore how Korea navigated modernization and global challenges during a pivotal moment in its history. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I am always committed to providing a thoughtful and satisfying tour experience. I look forward to meeting you soon and helping you make the most of your precious time in Seoul.

Johnny C.
Hello, I am a native Seoul guide, born and raised in Gangnam, where I have lived all my life. Growing up while witnessing the transformation of Gangnam and the rhythm of Seoul has given me the unique strength of introducing the city from the perspective of someone who has truly lived it. For the past ten years, I have worked in the travel industry, meeting guests from many different countries and gaining extensive experience in on-site operations, product development, and customer service. Through this, I have come to understand—more deeply than anyone—what international travelers look for in Seoul and what moments genuinely move them. This insight allows me to design customized routes and narratives that match each traveler’s interests and purpose. With a background in English studies and practical field experience, I guide naturally in both Korean and English, explaining even complex historical and cultural topics with clarity and ease. My broad on-site experience also enables me to remain calm and flexible when unexpected situations arise. To me, Seoul is not only my workplace but my home. I aim to present this familiar city in the freshest, most authentic way—so you can experience Seoul at its very best. Thank you.

I live in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan. I am a certified National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in English. I acquired my certificate in February 2017. I can guide in the areas of Yamanashi, Nagano, and the Greater Tokyo Area and more depending on your interests. Yamanashi is located at the base of Mount Fuji, so it is easy to visit there. Great views of Mount Fuji and strolling in the nostalgic areas of an old town are available. And also, the snow monkey park is not very far. I will offer customized-private tours designed around your interests, and I will adapt the tours and make them flexible to fit your needs. Each tour will be enjoyable and memorable. However, the hardest part will be choosing which place and what you would like to explore. I am available for consultation should you need it. I was educated in Japan and the USA. I have a Ph.D. in Biology and I did my post-doc career in the US. I worked in the R&D and Quality Control departments in cosmetics companies and I was a laboratory manager for a vegetable seeds company in Japan. I was a research scientist in New Zealand for a short time. I planned the industry tours for foreign specialists and guided them to the corresponding enterprises. I grew Oriental vegetables for commercial purposes for a company in the UK. I was a rice cultivation assistant in Africa as a member of the Japanese Peace Corps. I visited Iran, Iraq, and Syria as a member of a goodwill mission organized by the government. After retirement, I have been a tour guide. I accompany guests on offshore trips from cruise ships. I can arrange walking tours in the Aogihara Forest area including lava caves like the Ice Cave and Wind Cave, and also strolling tours in the nostalgic town of Yamanashi. I have two websites guiding about Yamanashi and Mount Fuji areas.
