About Tour Guide Didem T.

Hi, My name is Didem. I was born in 1977 in Istanbul and I am a licensed tour guide working in Istanbul where my family has lived for more than a century. Before studying tour guiding I studied economics and worked in banking and finance for many years. As I was so much amazed with the rich history of my hometown I decided to study guiding and turn my passion to my profession. Today I am so happy that I have been able to share my knowledge, passion and love for Istanbul with the thousands of guests I have guided so far. Landmarks of İstanbul

İstanbul is an amazing city with 2700 years of history as the capital of two empires. With this tour we are starting the day with the oldest structure of Constantinople, the Hippodrome and the Egytian Obelisk. Then we are visiting two more landmarks from the Roman era, 1500 years old Hagia Sophia and Basilica cistern. After our inside visits to the Roman landmarks, we'll see Blue Mosque from outside and walk to the Grand Bazaar to enjoy this 600 years old Ottoman bazaar with 4000 shops.

We start this tour at the Hippodrome and continue with the world famous Blue Mosque, built by the Ottomans in 1616, which takes its colors from precious stones. Then we visit the Ibrahim Pasha Palace, one of the most important buildings of Ottoman civil architecture. Today, the palace is used as a museum of Turkish and Islamic artifacts which sheds a strong light on the Ottoman period with its extensive collections. Then we visit the oldest and the biggest bazaar in the world, The Grand Bazaar.

“Outstanding from start to finish !!!”

The tour in Istanbul with our Guide Didem was outstanding from start to finish.
