Born in San Sebastian, Basque Country, I’m an enthusiastic person who loves travelling and sharing my experiences with people. I have visited over 60 countries and guided travellers for over 12 years. After travelling around the world in my last big trip, during 14 months, I decided to set up this bussiness to offer the travellers an unique view of the Basque Country & Rioja and surroundings like a local. I have a long experience guiding people along the Basque Country, specially around San Sebastian, Bilbao, Pamplona, Vitoria as well as the French-Basque Country and the famous Rioja Wine region. As well as I travel abroad often, I love to work showing my city and surroundings, guiding people to the best places, not only to the touristic ones, but to the off-the-track ones too. Always adding some of my little stories and anecdotes of each place making the journey more enjoyable and unique. Living in a place with a food-culture like us, it adds an extra value to my tours, being a member of a Gastronomy Club as I am (famous «sociedad gastronónica») in San Sebastian . This is only one of some of the tips I would offer you, considering that the only way to visit and access to them is being invited by a member! Great experience not to be missed!! Would you like to listen to some of the stories I have to share, while I show you the beautiful country where I live in is? If you are looking for real Basque guides, you found it. Come and feel the experience of the Basque Country with real local Basque guides! Ongi etorri! Hello, I am Kazu, an English tourist guide certified by government. I have been guiding foreign tourists in Tottori for several years since I retired. I am also serving as a volunteer medical interpreter and doing cultural exchanges with people from overseas. I was born in Tottori but had been away from here for a long time. I began travelling abroad when I was 21. Since then I have visited many countries for business and pleasure including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, America and Russia. Belgium, Italy and U.S.A are the countries where I used to live for business and UK for learning English. I really enjoyed and am enjoying travelling. Above all, I like meeting people from various countries. If you are interested in visiting a small town of Japan, I personally suggest you include Tottori in your itinerary. I am glad to guide you the picturesque views of Tottori along with seasonal fresh foods from sea and land. One of my recommendation is Tottori Sand Dunes & San-in Kaigan Geopark sea coast. Shall we explore the beauty of the nature in Tottori together? I can arrange your itinerary according to your request. I will try my best to make your stay in Tottori safe, special and memorable. I am very much looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

Yamaguchi Tour Guide - Mari Y.

Mari Y.

Japan

Hello!  I’m Mari. I’ve lived in Ube, Yamaguchi for 26 years and worked as an English teacher at a local middle school. I'm the proud grandmother of a 2-year-old girl and a 5-month-old boy.

My hobbies are traveling, walking, and playing tennis. My love for travel was sparked by my homestay experiences in Scotland and California, USA. Living outside Japan taught me so much, but what I cherish most about my homestays was the 'weekend small trips'. I fondly recall the picturesque Highlands and a B&B in Scotland, where a kind elderly couple welcomed me warmly. During an overnight bus trip from California to Las Vegas, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking sunrise changing the sky brighter and brighter.
Travel is special because of the small, soul-stirring moments. I love to travel and am happy to help others experience these wonderful moments too. Maintaining my mental and physical health is also a significant interest of mine. I’ve always liked playing tennis as this is a therapeutic sport for me and I can get so much stress As a morning person, my favorite routine taking a stroll in my neighborhood and giving a prayer at the local shrine sunny or rainy. I would love to show you around the relaxing local neighborhoods of Ube City!

Budapest Tour Guide - Kristof S.

Kristof S.

Hungary

Hi! My name is Kristóf (Hungarian for Christopher), I'm a certified tour guide living in Budapest. I became a guide as it allows me to combine my long lasting interests in storytelling and architecture. As a guide I really enjoy finding and telling intriguing stories or curiosities that can be tied in with the location. Such stories are a great way to connect the built environment to the community that inhabits it, or provide an insight to its cultural and historical context. The city has a long history living through different ages, and I hope, that together we can take a peek into the life of a long gone era.

Zala Tour Guide - Viktor K.

Viktor K.

Hungary

The two biggest problems in my life are, that I was born too soon to become a space-cowboy and too late to become a roman legionary soldier. Since Tour guiding was the closest profession to both of these above mentioned things, I became one. Although I finished the university as a communications expert and journalist in Hungary, it seems they did not prefer my honesty, so I didn't have too many prospects in that field. Without a clue of what to do next, I embarked on a journey to find some answers. I soon found my ambition in Tour-guiding and ended up working on a cruise ship, then as a freelancer tour-guide, and then as an adventure tour-guide in Norway. I've been working in the tourism industry since 2012 and ever since, it''was my dream to create an authentic company of my own and to show the beautiful things of my home country. My travels took me to more then 40+ countries. [And I still have both of my kidneys] Sadly during my journeys, I have discovered that out of 100 companies 99 are simply tourist traps, who scam their customers with some fake "experience". But I also saw, that the authentic and quality tour operators are the longest lasting companies with 20+ years. I aspire to become like that 1 in 100 companies. I believe in win-win situations. I'm a social guy. I like to be around people and to show them around. I like to have deep and honest conversations about things and I love to meet some truly amazing guests. There is nothing that you cannot talk about with me. I like this job so much, that I would even do this job for free, but since I cannot buy food with respect, love, or honesty, I do need something more tangible. Anyways…why are you wasting your time reading about me? Go book a tour and we will have all the time in the world to get to know each other and this beautiful Country.

Hello! My name is Lea, Split is my hometown and I'm a licensed tour guide for Split-Dalmatia, Dubrovnik-Neretva and Šibenik-Knin county, both in English and Spanish language. I was born in Split, I have been living here for more than 20 years and I'm passionate about sharing its beauty and culture! I got my Master's degree in Marketing, at Faculty of Economics here in Split. Following my university studies, I moved to Barcelona to do an internship before returning back to Split. I have always enjoyed learning languages, travelling and experiencing different cultures. Soon after graduation I have realised that office job doesn't suit me and I started to work as a tour guide, which was the best decision I have ever made! When I'm not tour guiding, I love to learn languages - I can speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. Yoga is also one of my passions, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) by International Yoga Alliance. Local gastronomy has always interested me, so I decided to do a course for a wine consultant to get to know more about the rich wine history in Croatia. In my free time, I love long walks with my dog and reading books. I absolutely love my job and cannot wait to share with you all the beauties that the city of Split and the region of Dalmatia have to offer! If you were looking for a private guide to experience the region like a true local - you are right where you should be!

Massachusetts Tour Guide - Maria S.

Maria S.

United States of America (USA)

I'm a long-time Boston resident with a passion for Boston history and exploring the city on foot. I've lived in Boston ever since moving here for college 16 years ago and immediately falling in love with the city. I'm currently a North End resident, but in the past I have lived in over 20 different apartments across most of Boston's neighborhoods. I can take tourists off the beaten path in any part of Boston and show the area through the eyes of a local. I worked for Boston City Hall for many years, running the city's first ever Data Engineering team. My team created Boston's city-wide data warehouse, bringing analytics and automation to the city. Listen to hilarious stories about the inner workings (or lack thereof) of a city government from an (ex) city employee and an active long time resident. I started giving tours of Boston this summer after quitting my regular 9-5 job and I love it! I'm an experienced traveler who has taken many tours around the world and I would like to give that back to the tourists who visit the city I call home. I'm passionate, funny, and full of quirky historical knowledge about Boston. Ask me about any statue or cool building that you see as we pass it, chances are I know something about it! I love good food and a nice cold beer, and know where to find the best lobster roll and chowder in Boston. I have been enthusiastically eating and drinking my way through the area for over a decade and can recommend a place to try any cuisine that comes to your mind! I love giving visitors an inside scoop on the hidden gems of the city, food, history, culture, and entertainment. In my spare time I spend my time playing video games, reading, camping, and traveling. I enjoy discovering new restaurants and hidden areas of Boston, adding new material to my extensive catalog of knowledge about the city.
