Chile
Alvaro G.
Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking the time checking my profile & exploring Chile. I was born and raised in Concepción, one of the rainiest cities in Southern Chile. I hold a B.A. in Communications and Journalism, as well as a Higher Education Diploma in Tourism Management and Sustainability. Becoming a tour guide was a natural choice for me, as I believe that communication is key to building a more understanding and connected world. My passion lies in sharing Chile’s rich history, culture, and stunning landscapes with visitors from around the globe. In my 20s, after graduating from college, I spent seven years traveling and working abroad in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. While those experiences were enriching, I knew it was time to return home, where I felt a deep calling to showcase Chile’s wonders to international visitors. I take great pride in my role as a tour guide, serving as an ambassador for foreign travelers and offering them an authentic glimpse of this beautiful country. With over a decade of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, both in Chile and abroad, I’ve had the privilege of working in Michelin-starred restaurants and world-class retreat properties. I’ve guided over 20,000 people across Chile and South America, and I haven’t lost a single one yet! I’m passionate about literature, the performing arts, photography, and nature, and I bring that enthusiasm into every tour I lead. Whether it’s discussing history, architecture, politics, art, or economics, I love sharing my knowledge and insights with travelers.

I have been an Interpretive Tour Guide for over 20 years. I landed in Japan with the United States Air Force in 1983 and have been learning, tasting and enjoying Japanese food all this time! Woohhoooo!! As an ex-Executive Assistant Food and Beverage Manager/Director, I know food, most of all Japanese food, and I want to show you how fun and incredible it is! I promise your time with me will be fruitful, (get the pun?) making some amazing memories along the way. I used to do daytime cultural tours until the pandemic left us out in the cold for three years so I had to switch over and do something else in which now I run a food tent and a food truck, making delicious smash burgers and tacos. Even though I was number one on a renowned travel platform for a while, I have selected to only do evening food and sake tours now. I also run a children's food bag program three days a week that we started about a year and a half ago. So if you would like me to take you around, I will still give you cultural and historical information, feed you amazing food and create some great memories for you to take home.

"Travel Is the Only Thing You Buy That Makes You Richer" Imagine that you could talk with your friends, lover, kids and all your family about last travel. How you can be unhappy . I worked as a mobile programmer for a long time and worked in China over 10 years among the my carrier. I wanted to be rich very much. So I worked very hard until night every day. The richer I got, the less rich I was. I lost my health and far from my family which is real purpose of my life. One day, I went on a travel with my family by chance. After that I became rich finally. With the trip, I had valuable memories that I could always share with my family for the rest of my life. That's the reason why I am working for tour guide so far. If you agree then following me. I will make you richer. Hi, I’m Kaz, a tour guide from Kyoto. I was born and raised here, studied in Osaka, and became fluent in English after studying abroad in Canada. Living in Canada taught me how fun and meaningful it is to discover different cultures and ways of thinking. Kyoto is my hometown, and of course it’s beautiful—but I think it becomes even more special when we notice the differences between cultures. Seeing things from different perspectives always makes me feel amazed and curious again. On my tours, I love sharing not just Kyoto’s famous spots, but also local stories, daily life, and the unique mindset of Japanese people. I really enjoy talking and learning from my guests too. I have traveled a lot and lived in different countries. I know what it is like to be a local and what it is like to be a tourist. I have a degree in sociology, so I know how to collect and analyze interesting facts. I also have a musical education, which gave me a strong background in the field of art. I really enjoy communicating with people and showing them the places that once made a strong impression on me. Tourists often say that my tours are something more than just sightseeing. They feel more like an interesting and engaging walk with an old friend who shares as much fascinating information as possible.
