Dear Travelers ! I'm KAORU. (English name : Katie)
I love mountain climbing as you see in my photo and also traveling.
Now I'm teaching English at vocational school as a part-time teacher, but used to be a tour guide to take Japanese tourists abroad.
Why did I become a national certificated guide ?
I'd love to introduce real Japan to you foreign people. I think there are a wide variety of people, customs, places, foods ... in your country. Vice versa in my country !
I'd like you to meet real Japan not only Tokyo or Kyoto but also suburbs and countryside.

Enjoy your half day or full day in Koedo Kawagoe which has Edo period atmosphere. It's just 30 minutes away from Tokyo by train.
Imperial Palace (former Edo Castle) - Let's get to know about "samurai" world in Edo !
The Imperial Palace used to be the Edo Castle where "Shogun" lived and the center of the govenment during the Edo Period. The Castle has been destroyed several times by big fires, big earthquakes and the WWⅡ. But still you can see some buildings, bridges and stone walls. Visiting these remains, let's get to know about "samurai world".
Browsing in the alleys of Kagurazaka !
Kagurazaka has an atmosphere of the old time. You can enjoy strolling in the stone-paved narrow alleys and shopping at local shops. There are shrines, temples and many nice restaurants.
Don't miss beautifu autumnal or fresh leaves on Mt. Takao !
Mt.Takao is about 600m high located in the west of Tokyo. It's quite popular and lots of people - kids, young people and the old - visit there through the year. Especialy in autum to see beautiful red maple leaves. It has a few courses to get to the peak including a cable car and a lift.
