The Flyer has been prominently featured in various media and pop culture representations of Singapore.
Bugis street
Bugis Street (妖街皇后) is a 1995 Hong Kong-Singapore co-produced film directed by Yonfan, depicting the lives of Singaporean transvestites in a past era. The film, which carried a Restricted (Artistic) rating due to its explicit content, including male full-frontal nudity, became a modest box office success. It nostalgically captured the vibrant yet gritty side of Singapore’s culture before Bugis Street was transformed into a modern shopping district and transvestite activities were phased out.
In 2015, a restored version of the film, titled Bugis Street Redux, was showcased at the 26th Singapore International Film Festival.

The largest section, Bay South Garden, spans 54 hectares (130 acres) and was designed by Grant Associates. It features the Flower Dome, recognized as the world's largest glass greenhouse.
