Meeting Point
Hotel Pick up in Cape Town
- At the agreed time, your private guide will be waiting for you in your hotel lobby or outside your accommodation. There is no need to stress about navigating traffic or finding a meeting point—we handle all the logistics so you can simply relax and enjoy the day ahead. What to expect at pickup: • Easy recognition: Your guide will be holding a small sign with your name on it or will introduce themselves directly at the front desk. • A warm welcome: You will be greeted with a friendly smile, a brief introduction, and a quick overview of the day's flexible itinerary. • Comfort first: Your guide will escort you to a clean, air-conditioned vehicle. They will help load any bags or daypacks you are bringing along and ensure everyone is comfortably settled before pulling away. A few quick tips for a smooth start: • Be ready: Please try to be in the lobby about 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup time. • Stay reachable: Keep your phone turned on and nearby just in case your guide needs to drop you a quick text about local traffic updates. Once you are loaded up and comfortable, we will leave the city behind and head straight toward the Atlantic seaboard to start your coastal adventure
Bo-Kaap
We will pull over for a quick, 15-minute photo stop to soak in one of Cape Town’s most iconic and colorful landscapes. Situated on the slopes of Signal Hill, this area is famous for its brightly painted facades and cobblestone streets, making it a photographer's dream.
How to make the most of your 15 minutes:
• Capture the colors: Walk down the cobblestones to snap photos against the brilliant pink, green, blue, and yellow houses. Your guide knows the absolute best angles and will gladly take photos of you and your group.
• Feel the heritage: Beyond the bright paint, look closely at the distinct Cape Dutch and Georgian architecture. This neighborhood is the historic heart of the Cape Malay culture, dating back to the 1700s.
• Quick respect tip: Bo-Kaap is a living, breathing residential community. We always ask that you respect the privacy of the locals by not filming directly into windows or walking onto private doorsteps.
It is a short but incredibly striking stop that brings the unique history and energy of the city right into your camera lens.
African Penguins - Boulders Beach
Our next destination takes us along a spectacular scenic coastal drive to Boulders Beach.
This stretch of the coastline offers jaw-dropping views of False Bay, where steep mountains meet the deep blue ocean. We will wind our way through historic naval towns and dramatic seaside cliffs before arriving at one of the only places in the world where you can stand just metres away from a wild colony of African penguins.
What to expect at Boulders Beach:
• Meet the penguins: Wander along the wooden boardwalks designed to protect the nesting birds while giving you an up-close look at them waddling on the sand, sunbathing on the massive granite boulders, and crashing through the surf.
• The landscape: Take a moment to admire the massive, 540-million-year-old granite boulders that give the beach its name and form sheltered, wind-free inlets.
• Conservation insights: Your guide will share the history of this unique colony, which grew from just two breeding pairs in 1982 into a thriving, protected sanctuary today.
Cape of Good Hope & Lunch
Next, we enter the dramatic landscapes of the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point.
We will spend about 3 hours exploring this wild nature reserve, which is a spectacular mix of rugged cliffs, wildlife, and ocean views. As we drive through, keep an eye out for Chacma baboons, Cape mountain zebras, ostriches, bontebok, and Cape fur seals in the surf.
Highlights at this stop:
• Cape of Good Hope photo stop: We will head to the shoreline for an iconic photo at the famous wooden sign marking the most south-western tip of the African continent.
• Optional coastal hike: You can take an easy, scenic 45-minute clifftop walk connecting the Cape of Good Hope to Cape Point, offering incredible views over pristine beaches.
• The Cape Point Lighthouse: Walk up the paved path or take a quick ride on the Flying Dutchman Funicular to enjoy panoramic views from the old lighthouse.
• Lunch at Two Oceans: You have the choice between a relaxed, sit-down lunch enjoying the views at the Two Oceans Restaurant or grabbing a quick takeaway from their informal section to enjoy on the move.
Whether you prefer a relaxed drive, a scenic walk, or riding the funicular, this reserve offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and legendary maritime history.
Ostrich Farm
If we missed seeing ostriches inside the reserve, we will make a quick 15-minute backup stop at the Cape Point Ostrich Farm.
Located just outside the reserve entrance, this production farm gives you a guaranteed up-close encounter with the world's largest birds. It is a short, fun stop designed to ensure you do not miss out on seeing these fascinating creatures before we begin our journey back.
What you can do in 15 minutes:
• Feed the ostriches: Grab a handful of feed and experience the unique, memorable sensation of feeding these giant birds directly.
• Browse local crafts: Pop into the farm shop to view high-quality ostrich leather goods, decorated ostrich eggshells, and other unique South African souvenirs.
• Taste a local delicacy: If you are feeling adventurous, you can grab a quick bite and try a tasty ostrich meat burger at the farm restaurant.
It is a flexible, stress-free addition to the day that makes sure your African wildlife checklist is fully complete.
Chapmans Peak
Our next stop takes us along Chapman's Peak Drive, affectionately known by locals as "Chappies."
We will spend about 35 to 45 minutes winding along this legendary 9-kilometre marine drive, making two dedicated stops at the best viewpoints to let you step out, stretch your legs, and soak in the views. Carved directly into the sheer mountain cliffs, the road features 114 curves that drop straight down into the crashing Atlantic Ocean below.
What makes this drive so special:
• Two scenic viewpoints: Our two stops are perfectly timed to give you distinct angles. The first looks back over the endless white sands of Noordhoek Beach, while the second opens up to a dramatic panorama of Hout Bay harbor and the Sentinel mountain.
• A global icon: Travellers often compare it to California’s Pacific Coast Highway, Australia's Great Ocean Road, or Italy's Amalfi Coast. While it shares that same dramatic cliffside energy, locals and visitors alike agree that Chappies simply cannot be compared once you see its raw, towering African landscape in person.
• Engineering marvel: Between stops, look up at the massive catch nets and half-tunnels engineered to cling to the mountain face, keeping the drive safe without ruining the rugged natural beauty.
It is a thrilling, jaw-dropping highlight of the loop that perfectly captures the wild, unmatchable spirit of the Cape Peninsula.
Maidens Cove
Our next stop brings us to the stunning lookout of Maiden's Cove.
To get here, we will cruise through a collection of beautiful seaside suburbs and little towns tucked along the Atlantic coastline. We'll pass the laid-back surf vibes of Llandudno, navigate the buzzing beachfront strip of Camps Bay, and wind past the exclusive cliffs of Clifton.
Why this stop is special:
• The ultimate backdrop: Nestled between Clifton and Camps Bay, Maiden's Cove offers an incredible 360-degree view. You'll look out at the Twelve Apostles mountain range on one side, Lion's Head on the other, and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean right in front of you.
• The final photo opportunity: This is our absolute last photo stop of the tour before we make our way back into the city center for your hotel drop-off. It is the perfect place to capture those final, postcard-perfect memories of the Cape Peninsula's dramatic coastline.
Take a few minutes to breathe in the fresh sea air, walk among the massive granite boulders, and snap your final group shots before we wrap up our day's adventure.
