Drive past Johannesburg City, various buildings will be pointed out. The history of Johannesburg will be discussed.
Soweto
Arrive in Soweto, drive past and discuss the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Baragwanath Taxi Rank and the Orlando Towers.
Soweto, Walter Sisulu Freedom Square
A brief walk around the Walter Sisulu Freedom Square where the Freedom Charter was signed on 26 June 1955.
Soweto, Regina Mundi Catholic Church.
A guided tour of the Regina Mundi Catholic Church. This church was an important feature of the Soweto uprising on June 16th 1976.
Soweto, Hector Pierson Memorial
A brief tour of the Hector Pierson Memorial which serves to remember all the youth that were killed in the struggle against Apartheid.
Soweto, Vilakazi Street
Visit and take a slow walk down Vilakazi Street enjoying the various markets. The Nelson Mandela House Museum can also be visited for a short guided tour (Optional).
