King Vijayabahu the 1st developed the Sinhalese governing kingdom in Polonnaruwa. and finally the kingdom was transferred to Dambadeniya and Polonnaruwa was concored by Indian king Kalinga Magha.

Journey begins around 6.00 a.m. from the residence in Kandy and drive to Polonnaruwa, which was the capital of Sri Lanka for about 200 years. After 3 & half hours driving we can reach Polonnaruwa.

You can visit archeological museum, royal palace, audience hall, swimming pool, sacred quadrangle, shiva devale, pabalu vehera, rankot vihara, kiri vihara, buddha statue at lankatilaka, buddha figures at gal vihara etc.It takes normally 05 to 06 hours to visit entire kingdom in Polonnaruwa.
