About Tour Guide Haruka O.
Hi, my name is Haruka!
I was born in Tokyo but have lived in Kyoto for the past few years. I am a native English speaker as I was raised in an international school.
While living in Kyoto, I have worked at several ryokans, a Michelin starred private dining restaurant, a Relais et Châteaux luxury ryokan and as a translator for Maiko and Geiko shows.
Through my work experience, I have become very familiar with the best sightseeing spots, restaurants from cozy to luxurious, the Maiko and Geiko shows, fun activities to experience the Kyoto culture, shops to witness and buy delicate crafts and tools of the Japanese traditional craftsmanship.
I would love to show you around in this beautiful city and come to love Kyoto as I do. “Six hour in Kyoto with Haruka”
We only had a little over 6 hours in Kyoto on a rainy day, so I turned to Haruka to help us to see as many places as we could, and he did it perfectly. Haruka arranged a car for us, and took us to all the main attractions in Kyoto. Besides perfect English and his knowledge about Kyoto, Haruka can also tell you anything about Japanese history and culture. We had a really nice tour of Kyoto, thanks to Haruka.

“An afternoon introduction to Kyoto”
Haruka is a charming, friendly and kind young man with and excellent knowledge of the sites and history of Kyoto. He took us to sites which matched our interest, some of which we would not have found on our own and suggested changes to our proposed itinerary, as we went along, to match our interests. He navigated us around Kyoto expertly using local buses which added a flavour of local colour to our experience. His english is excellent and I would recommend him highly.
