About Tour Guide Oğuzhan A.
Merhaba (hello) every body! Are you looking for an expert to help you with your holiday plans in Cappadocia? Yes, you are almost there and I am here.!
I do live in Cappadocia. As an officially licensed guide for 20 years now, I do give tour services all over Turkey. I am from Mersin actually, a coastal city of the Eastern Mediterranean, and married to a Cappadocian. So I have become a Cappadocian now:)) having spent almost 20 years.
With guiding, I have so far opened the way to many people from all over the world. And guiding itself has ever opened the path for me to make new friends from all those different parts of our planet too. So, I love what I do. With this love, I gave huge effort to improve my skills and abilities for better services and best results. First of all, I studied tourism at Kocaeli University and secondly English Language Teaching BA program in Adana. I earned a doctoral degree in Ancient History. and I am already a writer, co author of "Taskopruden Balabana" a Turkic folkloric book and Ancient History of Turkey (Anadolunun Eskiçağ Tarihi) with professor L. Gurkan Gokcek the Assyriologist. Morover, I previously graduated from vacational college of tourism and English LAnguage teaching BA program.
I know what being jammed in the busy life of cities mean. Once you make a jump out of the routines, you then deserve the best. I am here. Please donot hesitate to contact me for any questions. We can make any holiday plans together.

“Exceptional Day of Wonder in Cappadocia”
Oğuzhan was both a delightful personality, as well as an extremely conscientious and informative guide, providing an abundance of historical, cultural, and social insights into the variety of things we toured in Cappadocia. My wife is a fashion designer, and he customized our itinerary to include private tours of textile and ceramic studios. His PhD is pertains to Mesopotamia, and we're eager to return and engage him for a tour of that region.

Welcome to Türkiye! I am a professional tourist guide based in Istanbul, passionate about sharing the rich history, culture, and daily life of my hometown and country. Whether you are interested in history, culture, art, archaeology, food, or local traditions, I would be delighted to create a meaningful experience tailored to your interests. After graduating as valedictorian from the Department of Econometrics at Uludağ University and gaining several years of professional experience in the finance and foreign trade sectors in Türkiye, I moved to the United States. While pursuing a master’s degree in Economics at George Washington University, I was awarded two prestigious postgraduate scholarships by the University of Nottingham. I subsequently moved to the United Kingdom and earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Economics from the University of Nottingham. Upon returning to Istanbul, I began a master’s degree in Econometrics at Marmara University (thesis in progress) with the aim of pursuing a PhD in Econometrics. It was also during this period that I took my first steps toward a professional career in tourism. During nearly four years in Washington, D.C., I served as a volunteer translator for Turkish delegations and international students hosted by non-profit organizations supported by the U.S. government. I also volunteered as a cultural guide for Turkish delegations and international students during cultural tours that included visits to the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum complex. These experiences inspired me to present Istanbul—my hometown—and Türkiye to international visitors in an accurate and meaningful way. After returning to Türkiye, I completed the Tourist Guidance Program at Cappadocia University on a full scholarship. I also hold an Associate Degree in Cultural Heritage and Tourism and have been studying Art History at Istanbul Medeniyet University. I look forward to welcoming you to Istanbul and helping you discover Türkiye.
