About BTTL TOURS

We are a group of London taxi drivers who offer personalised tours of the city in our iconic black cabs, showing you the sights and top locations that you really want to see. Our tours are private, unique and personalised – just tell your driver about your interests and they will put together the perfect itinerary for you.

Our drivers have all passed The Knowledge to become qualified cab drivers, and we all have guiding qualifications from the Museum of London and the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers. This means we are Qualified Taxi Guides. We have so much knowledge – we cannot wait to share it with you.

Only Blue Badge tour guides are permitted to guide inside certain locations, such as Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London. I was born in the North of England but spent much of my childhood living in India and the Middle East. I moved to London for a year to study on a postgraduate course and never left - working, bringing up my children and developing my career in guiding here. Apart from a few years living in Japan and Singapore, London has been my home for 30 years. I believe there is something for everyone here in London, 2000 years of history rubbing shoulders in a contemporary city with modern architecture, fashion and art. Whatever you are interested in, whether it is royalty, castles, palaces, traditions, galleries, museums or modern culture I can tailor a tour for you. My bespoke tours include walking tours, tours by public transport ( bus, tube, boat or train), or I can organize a car with a driver or a minibus. Within London we can cover the major sites--Westminster Abbey, Royal London, Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Churchill War Rooms, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London or explore less well-known districts like Bermondsey, Shoreditch or Spitalfields. Out of London Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, Dover, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle are a few of the many wonderful places that can be easily reached in a day trip. I was lucky enough to grow up in a glorious area of South West London and apart from travelling to see the world I've always returned. I love meeting new people and showing them my favourite local places by what I feel is the best mode of travel. . . a bike. This historic area is set on a beautiful part of the River Thames, it has old Royal hunting grounds containing deer, world famous places like the 16th Century home of royalty Hampton Court Palace + UNESCO Kew Botanic Gardens. It is only 30-45 minutes from Central London by train or tube and a peaceful place to visit or base yourself whilst visiting London. Myself & my family were born & brought up in London, I have always had a fascination of the city I live in, so in 2013 I decided to study the knowledge of London to become a London Taxi driver. After intensely learning the many roads and hidden streets and after 4 years of studying, I became a London Taxi driver. I soon realised whilst driving passengers in my cab, that customers would ask many questions about statues, landmarks and historical buildings. Which at the time I never knew the answer, only the street name I was driving on and where I was driving too. So, 3 years ago, I took it upon myself to start reading up on the history of London. The more and more books I read on the different points of history, people and places, my love for London grew even more stronger. In 2020, I discovered the Official London tour guide course and decided to complete this as soon as possible. I am happy to say I obtained this badge during one of the most difficult years, in the global pandemic. I hope to share with you my knowledge and experiences of historic London.
