Popular London Tour Guides

Bea P.

United Kingdom (UK)

Hello, My name is Bea. I am a City of Westminster Guide, offering highlights walks in Central London as well as theme walks that feature arts, history, royalty, and filming locations. As a Westminster Guide, my specialty is the borough of London where we find most of the historic and popular attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament with Elizabeth Tower (aka 'Big Ben'), but also four royal parks, the British Museum, the National Gallery, the learned societies and areas known as St James's, Covent Garden, Soho, Mayfair and Belgravia, to mention the most attractive ones. So the heart of monarchy, politics, as well as arts and science! :) Unlike many of my excellent colleagues here, I am not a driver guide, I offer walking tours only. I believe that the best way to get to know a city is on foot, pausing from time to time and looking up to take in the beauty and decipher the hidden messages of the buildings around us.

If you have mobility issues, I can accommodate my walks to your needs and can guarantee step-free walks (except for roadside kerbs) that are suitable for guests in wheelchair or with limited mobility. The advantage of a private walk is that we can take a break any time if you need.

I also have my own 'Vox Tour Guide System' which means that with the help of a pair of earphones connected to a tiny little box (the receiver that you can wear in your neck), you will not miss a word I am saying, even if we are standing by a busy a road, or you are taking photos a few meters away from me!

As a qualified teacher and former Mary Poppins (nanny) with an enhanced DBS, I am happy to guide families with children, and come up with suggestions regarding how to make the tour enjoyable for all age groups. The key to having fun while sightseeing with kids is considering their needs.

I look forward to guiding you!

 Best regards,
 Bea

I am a qualified City of London Guide (2021) and run my own Walking Tour business. I like to do Tours with the kind of visitor who wants to know more than the standard Tour information, and really get to understand the history and development of London. My Tours are focused on a specific subject or area and aim to give you real depth of understanding, not just the "standard tourist story". Among the subjects are Roman London, the Tudor City, Trading and Commerce, Secret Gardens Hidden Churches, the Great Fire and the Beatles. I have a First in Classics from Oxford University and used to work as a stand-up comedian, so I combine rigorous detail and knowledge with an entertaining delivery style!

I am a lawyer, historian and official City of London and Westminster tour guide. Introducing guests to the splendours and secrets of my hometown is my passion. I try to make my tours a mixture of fun and fact (with some of the facts being funny and some of the fun being factual). I would love to arrange a private tour that will make your visit to London truly memorable. All of my income from tour guiding is donated to charity - currently World Jewish Relief's Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Vanesa is an independent London walking tour guide who is passionate about sharing history, art, culture, architecture and interesting bits about London. Here's what people have said about Vanesa: "Great walking tour of London! Communication was very easy (We were a bit late but since the other group had cancelled, Vanessa waited for us!) The tour itself was very interesting, we went to London’s hotspots, learned a lot and had a very fun time! Vanessa is very nice and a great guide. Would definitely recommend and do it again myself!" "Vane's tours are truly worth having. She is knowledgeable and very eager to satisfy the questions of the clients. It is an experience I would easily recommend to anyone. Go for it!"

I have been a Tourist Guide since c.2014. I started out as a Green Badge Tourist Guide for Southampton, then took a Blue Badge course to become a guide for the central southern region of England. I have a passion for history and beautiful places, and would like to share them with you.

A little about me – I am a Londoner (‘born and bred’ as the saying goes) and, following the rigorous training, in March 2005 I qualified as a registered Tourist Guide (with the Blue Badge tourist guiding qualification, the highest guiding qualification in the UK). Since then I have worked exclusively as a professional tourist guide. The Blue Badge qualification allows me to guide in key visitor sites such as Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral. I have guided groups of all sizes (from single individual via couples, families and all through to double-decker bus parties of around 60 individuals). Since 2007 I have been personally recommended by American travel writer Rick Steves in his London and European guide books which has led to the opportunity to work with clients in developing the itineraries that best suited their needs and interests (taking into account factors such as venues opening days, dates, times and peak periods). For me guiding is both a privilege and a great pleasure. The last year has of course been tough for everyone involved in the Travel and Tourism industry and I have truly missed the day to day experience of guiding visitors in and around London and other locations (ie Windsor, Stonehenge). I am able to offer themed tours Iconic London, Shakespeare’s London, Beatles London and Hidden London (to name a few). My ethos is that visitors enjoy and are entertained by what they see and hear (and learn along the way!)

Hello! I would like to welcome you to London, my home and the city I love. As well as being an experienced Blue Badge Tour Guide (the ultimate qualification in guiding) I am also a City of London Guide, City of Westminster Guide, Windsor and Eton Guide and Tate Gallery Guide, so wherever we go you'll be in good hands. Only Blue Badge tour guides are permitted to guide inside certain locations, such as Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London. My aim is to provide you with enthusiastic, informative and fun private tours which ensure that your London experience will be the best. I was born in the North of England but spent much of my childhood living in India and the Middle East. I moved to London for a year to study on a postgraduate course and never left - working, bringing up my children and developing my career in guiding here. Apart from a few years living in Japan and Singapore, London has been my home for 30 years. I believe there is something for everyone here in London, 2000 years of history rubbing shoulders in a contemporary city with modern architecture, fashion and art. Whatever you are interested in, whether it is royalty, castles, palaces, traditions, galleries, museums or modern culture I can tailor a tour for you. My bespoke tours include walking tours, tours by public transport ( bus, tube, boat or train), or I can organize a car with a driver or a minibus. Within London we can cover the major sites--Westminster Abbey, Royal London, Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Churchill War Rooms, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London or explore less well-known districts like Bermondsey, Shoreditch or Spitalfields. Out of London Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, Dover, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle are a few of the many wonderful places that can be easily reached in a day trip. It would be my great pleasure to welcome you to my city and I hope to see you soon. . . . Liz Covid 19 notice - I have been certified "Good to Go" by Visit England.
