My name is Jacob, and I've been exploring Colorado since 2007, when I moved here for my first engineering job. Right away, I began hiking the beautiful Rocky Mountain peaks, then climbing the cliffs, and learning to camp in the backcountry, but what I loved the most was exploring on my bicycle. I loved it so much that I eventually quit my job to simply ride my bike as far as I could go. Three years later, I returned to Colorado having pedaled 38,000 miles and circled the earth twice. My route traced from Portugal to China, Alaska to Argentina, then across New Zealand, Australia, and Africa. While I was out there, I learned to exist in nature, to be confident in handling any situation, and to always find beauty in my surroundings. This is the experience I bring to my tours. I pride myself in finding the most scenic places to visit, that both highlights the natural beauty of Colorado, as well as captures the local charm of the people who live here.

My passion for adventure began in high school when I first heard about the Appalachian Trail. After four years in the army, I hiked all 2,180 miles, sparking a lifelong love of exploring on foot and by bike. Soon after, I biked across the USA, parts of New Zealand, and eventually 18,000 miles around the world through Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America—an incredible journey that included both challenges and unforgettable experiences. I later moved to Taiwan and China, earning a master’s in Chinese studies, teaching, and leading biking and hiking tours throughout Tibetan regions. Year-round, it offers something for everyone, from wildflower hikes to snowshoeing, skiing, and rafting.
