This curated tour will help you make the most of your time in the museum and see the collection highlights. Join me for a stroll through the Metropolitan, filled with tales from Greek mythology, stories behind the masterpieces, and glimpses into the turbulent life of the artists.

There is so much to see in the Metropolitan, and these are some of my favorites. We could mix and match and customize the tour to your interests, or you could just follow me on a wonderful journey through the times and cultures.
- Roman and Greek Art: Cycladic sculpture from 2600 BCE, Ancient Greek sculptures, Roman sarcophagi and portraits
- Egyptian Art: The Temple Dendur - a gift from Egypt, Faiyum portraits from the 1st Century, Hatshepsut - the female pharaoh
- The American Wing: Spectacular glass paintings by Tiffany, a living room by Frank Lloyd Wright, and a gilded Diana weather vane
- European Sculpture: The drama and elegance of sculptures by Canova and Carpeaux
- Old Masters: Paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer, masters of the Dutch Golden Age and Italian Renaissance
- Impressionism and Post-Impressionism: Works by Monet, Degas, Seurat, Cezanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Picasso.
Please note that the best time to enjoy the Metropolitan is when it's less crowded, aka in the mornings or late afternoon on Friday. The Museum is closed on Wednesday.

- Please note that the best time to enjoy the Metropolitan is when it's less crowded, aka in the mornings or late afternoon on Friday.
- The Museum is closed on Wednesday.
- The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, but it can be made shorter (it's easy to get tired!) or last longer if you want to cover more ground.
- There are cafés inside the Museum, and we could certainly incorporate a little food break

I can show you major landmarks as well as secret spots and cozy old bars where you can feel NYC history. I can take you to places where sounds of jazz rule the night and people swing-dance - a dance which was born in Harlem, NY, and had swept the world with its infectious joy.
I'm a licensed sightseeing guide with many years of experience. I'm truly fascinated with the unique history of New York City and love to share my passion for it. I've studied History of Art at Harvard Extension School (Cambridge, Mass) and New School (NYC) and took classes on NYC Architectural History at Cooper Union (NYC).

Iren was friendly, on-time, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, well-prepared, and just a joy to spend time with. By the end of our time with her we felt like we were seeing the city with a good friend.
