The most famous "balneario" (seaside city) in the country and one of the most exclusive in Latin America.
The beauty of its geography is combined with an unparalleled urbanization.
The area covered by this destination really includes around 50km of coastline between what is Punta Ballena (at the West) and José Ignacio (at the East).
At the end of the day you can be sure that you visited all the interesting places in the area.
Hotel (Montevideo)
- The most common thing is to depart from the Hotel where you are staying since this is a Tour that will take us all day, but if you are arriving by plane or ferry and want me to wait for you at the port or airport to take you directly to Punta of the East and take the Tour upon our arrival, no problem, we combine it perfectly. Whether for this or any other day trip, I recommend having breakfast at the hotel as early as possible so we can hit the road early in the morning. In this way we have more time to enjoy and take advantage of the day, knowing more places. Remember that this is a Private Tour, so it is you who set the departure and arrival times. The times marked as start and end times are approximate, taking as a reference what hotels commonly set for the start of breakfast. But everything can be accommodated to your preferences. If you like to go out without breakfast, we can coordinate it perfectly, and then if you like, we stop somewhere on the way, so you can make the most of the day at your destination and give yourself time to see more places. When leaving at dawn, there is also generally less traffic and less time is lost on the route. I recommend being prepared for temperature variations since we leave at dawn and return at night.
Here begins the area of our tour, a high point of rocks that juts out into the sea and offers a spectacular view on both sides.
Here is the famous Hotel Casapueblo Museum, built by the artist Carlos Páez Vilaro.
Already entering our main destination, the first thing we have is this beach.
We will walk along its boulevard making stops to go down to the beach, walk along the wooden walkways, take photos or whatever you like.
We will also enter their residential neighborhoods.
At the end of the Mansa Beach we arrive at the Peninsula, which is the origin of the city and the actual downtown.
We will visit its historical places such as the Lighthouse and the Candelaria Church and its shopping center and famous Gorlero Avenue.
Rambla Circunvalación and Punta de la Salina that separates the Río de la Plata from the Atlantic Ocean and is the southernmost point of the country.
In the Marina you will see luxurious yachts and sailboats are combined with artisanal fishermen who return from the sea and sell their fish.
Large sea lions always come to wait for the fishermen to throw them leftover fish, so they are on the pier a few meters from the people, like “posing for a photo”.
We will visit is the famous sculpture of Los Dedos, a mandatory stop for all visitors.
Then, we will tour the entire "Rambla" and the adjacent neighborhoods such as San Rafael, Rincón del Indio, or Bevery Hills, making as many stops as you like.
We will cross the Maldonado Stream through the famous undulating bridge and visit the small beaches shops and its narrow streets.
All this places have a different style from Punta del Este.
After Manantiales another seaside drive of 20km and we arrive to José Ignacio, its lighthouse and small but exclusive village and neighborhoods.
Here we will stop to have lunch in one of the local restaurants.
After Jose Ignacio we will begin to return slowly towards the Peninsula, making all the stops you like.
We will finally stop at the Punta del Este downtown so you can walk along the famous Gorlero Avenue, its shops and the Handscrafts Market.
At about this time we start our way back to Montevideo.
We will be returning to the Hotel where we left at approximately 1930hrs, depending on traffic on the road..
