Departing for the Cu Chi Tunnels
Overview of Tunnles
This vast network, stretching over 250 kilometers, became legendary for its crucial role during the war. During the war, the tunnels served as fully functioning underground cities, complete with numerous trapdoors, specially designed living quarters, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. The area bears many signs of the fierce battles that occurred here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was known as a “Free Target Zone.”
Cu Chi Tunnels
Visitors continue exploration with a short introductory video that details how the tunnels were constructed before venturing into the tunnels themselves. You’ll spend the next hour exploring these historic underground passages.
Afterward, relax with a traditional snack of tea and cassava—the staple food of the guerrillas during the war. Visitors can try to fire off an AK47 or MK16 or machine guns at the nearby shooting range. (on request and under control by Vietnamese Army, allow above 18 years old)
