Discover the Hue that most visitors walk past. We begin at Dong Ba Market, tasting seasonal fruit and street snacks among the stalls, then take a short taxi ride to Kim Long, the village of old garden houses. Inside a traditional wooden house, the family welcomes you with tea in their courtyard garden. We finish with a slow walk along the Perfume River and Hue's famous salt coffee.

Meeting Point
06 Tran Hung Dao Str
- We meet at the main entrance of Co.opmart Supermarket, 6 Tran Hung Dao Street, next to Truong Tien Bridge – a short walk or taxi ride from most hotels in the city centre.
Dong Ba Market
As one of the largest and oldest markets in Hue, Dong Ba Market encompasses both the history, culture, and lifestyle of the people of Hue. It would be an enjoyable experience to explore this market with a local guide, from vegetables, shrimp, and fish stalls to spices, household item, and offering shops
Hue traditional garden House
Moving by taxi from Dong Ba market we then reach to Kim Long village. Step inside a traditional Hue garden house, where wooden architecture blends with peaceful courtyards and lush greenery. Meet local hosts, sip tea, and discover how these hidden gems reflect Hue’s heritage of harmony between nature, family, and culture.
Perfume River walk
We stroll along the riverbank in Kim Long, a quiet stretch of the Perfume River lined with old houses and village temples.
Salt coffee
We end with Hue's own salt coffee – strong Vietnamese coffee topped with lightly salted cream – before I arrange your taxi back to your hotel.

Half day Hue highlight tour
Hue was Vietnam's imperial capital under the Nguyen Dynasty for 143 years (1802–1945). In one unhurried morning, I take you to the heart of that story. We walk the Imperial City inside the Citadel – throne halls, dynastic temples, royal gardens and the Forbidden Purple City – then continue to Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue's oldest pagoda, founded in 1601. We return along the Perfume River by private boat.
