During this day trip we will visit a city, with ruins dating from the Roman era and some Royal Graves of Illyrian Kings.

The city of Elbasan is one of the largest in Albania. In fact, though it has an early Ottoman name, it was definitely an Illyrian settlement since the 4th century BC.

Our first visit will be at the ruins of the Ad-Quintum, once a caravan station (mansion) along the famous Via Egnatia. We continue our tour with a walking tour inside the Old Town where we may visit the King’s Mosque and St. Mary’s church.

Continue further to the village of Selca e Poshtme to walk around some rock cut tombs situated on the slope of the hill near by the village. Meeting the locals in the village, is another part of our exploring day.
