Day1: Yerevan
Late arrival of the group. Transfer to the hotel.
Welcome Dinner.
Overnight in Yerevan (dinner included)
Day2: Yerevan – a Sunny City
We start the day by the bus tour around Yerevan getting acquainted with the Armenian Capital: Cascade, Opera House, Republic Square, Governmental Street, etc.
After that Echmiadzin Spiritual Center is waiting for us where there is the Seat of All Armenian Katholicos. We’ll also see the ruins of Zvartnots VII c. Cathedral – one of the pearls of Armenian Architecture.
Return and Overnight in Yerevan.
Day3: A Mountain of Noah’s Ark
Trip to the South towards the biblical Mount Ararat. This time our aim will be a visit of Khor Virap Monastery, where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned in the deep pit, before becoming the first Armenian Patriarch. A wonderful view of biblical mountain, located nowadays in Turkey opens up In front of us. We continue further to the Southern village Areni, driving through the narrow gorge we’ll visit Noravank Monastery (13-14 century).
We will continue along the Silk road route via the Blue Pearl of Armenia Sevan lake. We'll visit the only preserved Caravanserai of the 13 century, Sevanavank Monastery located on Sevan Peninsula (once being the Island it served as an exile for Armenian clergy). Arrival to Dilijan Resort Town.
Overnight Diligan. (Brealkast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4: A Play of Eagles – Haghartsin.
Forests of Armenia… Visit Haghartsin Monastery 11-13 cc. located in the wooded valley of Dilijan National Park. This Monastery was completely reconstructed on donation of Arabian Sheikh.
After this we’ll see 12 c. Goshavank Monastery in the village Gosh, where a great Armenian scholar Mkhitar Gosh wrote the first Armenian Civil and Criminal Code.
Overnight in Diligan. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 5: Back to Yerevan
On the way back to the capital we’ll see Hellenistic Temple Garni (I century A.D) with a beautiful view on the gorge of Azat river. After this we’ll visit Geghard, the unique architectural complex included in UNESCO Word Heritage Sites. Biggest Part of this Monastery is carved in a solid rock.
Here a nice lunch will be organized for you with the demonstration of baking of the traditional Armenian bread called Lavash.
Transfer to the Airport. (Breakfast, Lunch)
