Best of Vienna Walking Tour

This tour gives you a great overview to Vienna's history, cultural heritage and todays life. We'll cover all the important places in the Inner City (Hofburg Palace, Hotel Sacher, State opera, Kohlmarkt, Graben, St. Stephen's cathedral etc.) We might include an optional inside visit eg. the Treasury, Imperial library, St. Stephan's cathedral or Capuchin's crypt. I'll also give you plenty of options of things you could do on your own, which restaurants you might like and places you shouldn't miss.

State opera/Albertina
See the famous state opera, Sacher Hotel, Albertina and the monument against war and fascism.
Joseph's square
Short visit to the imperial wedding church of the Habsburg family. See also the imperial library and the stables of the Spanish Riding School.
Swiss courtyard in Hofburg palace
See the oldest part of Hofburg palace. Court music chapel where the Viennese Boys Choir performs on Sundays.
Inner Courtyard of Hofburg palace
See a half a century old astronomical clock and the moat and draw-bridge of the medieval palace.
Heroe's square
See the biggest square of the palace. See parts of the Ringstrasse and its buildings. Also see the residence of the president of Austria.
Michael's square
See Roman excavations; the first modern building of Vienna; learn about the coffee culture of Vienna and a place which is related in a very special way to the life of Mozart.
Plague column
See Vienna's high-end shopping area and a baroque monument with a real life portrait of an emperor from the 1600s.
St. Stephen's cathedral
Explore the area around the cathedral and the outside of the cathedral.

Hello there,
I'm a historian with expertise on the 20th century in Austria and Europe. I'm writing my thesis about cultural and museum policies during the 1930s/1940s/1950s in Vienna.
Beside that and more important to you I'm a passionate guide since 2015 who can't wait to make people fall in love with Vienna and its region.
I especially guide private groups, families and individuals. Often with a Jewish background since I lived in Israel a couple of years and during my graduation also studied Israel and Jewish studies at Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel. I love walking tours. I love food tours. I regularly guide guests through Schönbrunn Palace, Hofburg Palace, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Treasury, St. Stephan's cathedral etc.
