Atashgah Fire Temple
Start with visiting XVII century Fire Temple located in Surakhani settlement nearby of Baku.
Discover Zoroostrian culture of Azerbaijan by visiting central temple`s fire – it was the reason of construction this temple! The temple was built in a place where from the ancient times until end of the XIX century natural gas (methane) oozed out of the surface, being a reason of the Eternal Flames phenomenon. The Baku Atashgah Temple was a pilgrimage and philosophical centre of Fire Prayers from Indian subcontinent, who were involved in trade with the Caspian area via the famous "Grand Silk Road".
You are welcome to enter to 10 of 24 cells, which used to accommodate visiting pilgrims. The whole roof, which forms a closed looks as a pentagon, there are holes above every cell to allow gas and smoke to exit.
'Yanardagh' Burning Mountain
Surakhani is located on a high hill. For millennia, gas naturally emerged from the Earth, has been burned because of concentration of methane. Since 1850 by the oil boom Surakhani has turned into a compact residence for oil industry workers.
Visit this incredible Natural Wonder and enjoy watching the ancient fire.
The natural gases emanating from the ground and constantly burning here at the foot of the rock. Therefore, this place is called "Yanardagh".
Also, here you can find Cromlex stone exhibition in the reserve and listen to the local rituals about it.
Zaha Hadid's Masterpiece
Situated in the heart of Baku, this Cultural Centre is an expression of high level architectural poetry. Hadid’s signature style, marked by curvaceous lines and traditional geometrical norms, it is an evident through the lack of corners and straight lines; the design embraces appears to defy gravity.

Green Bazar
Yashil Bazaar a world of aromas.
Located a little further from downtown, Yashil Bazaar (Azerb. lng: Green Bazaar) is Baku’s largest food bazaar with organic (exotic) fruits, veg, herbs and spices, dried fruits, juices and jams, as well as a favourite local delicacies like caviar or saffron.
Strolling from row to row allow you to experience a worlds of flavours and aromas from diverse corners of Azerbaijan. It is one of the most popular food shopping spots among Baku locals and not only. Vendors are happy to assist and offer you try before you buy. Get ready to experience the hustle and bustle of an Eastern bazar.
