07:30 AM

Candy Cane mountains

Prepare to be mesmerized by the Candy Cane Mountains, one of Azerbaijan’s most surreal natural wonders. Located in the Siyazan and Khizi districts, these majestic peaks earned their name from the striking, vibrant stripes of red, pink, and orange that swirl across the landscape. Created by the oxidation of groundwater and iron compounds over millions of years, these mountains offer a breathtaking, otherworldly backdrop that feels like stepping onto another planet.

Whether you are a photography enthusiast seeking the perfect shot or a nature lover looking to witness the raw beauty of Azerbaijan’s unique geology, the Candy Cane Mountains are an absolute must-see. We will take the time to pause at the best vantage points, allowing you to walk among these colorful formations and soak in the tranquil, artistic beauty of this hidden gem.

08:40 AM

Beshbarmag mountains

Experience the iconic silhouette of Beshbarmag Mountain without the hike. We will make a convenient stop right along the highway, offering you the perfect vantage point to take in the dramatic, rugged beauty of the "Five-Finger Mountain."

This stop allows you to appreciate the sheer scale and mystical presence of the mountain from the comfort of the road. It is the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photos of the limestone cliffs rising against the sky and to soak in the serene atmosphere of this legendary landmark, which has served as a spiritual guide for travelers passing through this route for centuries.

As we take in the view, we will dive into a quintessential Azerbaijani culinary experience. We’ll stop at a local favorite to enjoy freshly grilled lule kebab, served in a warm, traditional wrap. Savory, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned, it is the ultimate "on-the-go" feast that captures the local flavors of the region.

10:30 AM

Shahdag Mountain resort

As we take in the view, we will dive into a quintessential Azerbaijani culinary experience. We’ll stop at a local favorite to enjoy freshly grilled lule kebab, served in a warm, traditional wrap. Savory, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned, it is the ultimate "on-the-go" feast that captures the local flavors of the region. Whether you visit when the peaks are blanketed in pristine snow or when the valleys bloom into lush, subalpine meadows, Shahdag offers an unforgettable experience. In the winter, it transforms into a world-class ski resort with state-of-the-art slopes and modern infrastructure. As the snow melts, the resort evolves into a vibrant hub for adventure—offering everything from the adrenaline-pumping Shahdag Coaster (the first alpine coaster in the Caucasus) to scenic cable car rides that reveal breathtaking, panoramic views of the surrounding Caucasus Mountains. During the winter months (typically December to February), the resort transforms into a hub for snow sports and high-energy thrills. Visitors can go mountain biking, trekking along marked scenic trails (such as the Laza-Kuzun routes), or take quad, buggy, and Polaris off-road tours to explore the surrounding Caucasus wilderness. Activities include horseback riding, archery, and swimming in the mountain lake. Scenic cable car rides remain a popular way to enjoy the mountain vistas.

12:00 PM

Suvar village

Suvar is a scenic mountain tourist base located in the Qusar District of Azerbaijan. Situated at an altitude of 1,850 meters above sea level just above the village of Laza, it serves as a gateway to the breathtaking wilderness of the Greater Caucasus. Nestled at the foot of Mount Shahdag, Suvar is surrounded by dramatic peaks and alpine landscapes. Its location in the Qusar region—a mountainous area that shares a border with the Russian Federation (Dagestan)—makes it an ideal destination for those looking to explore the rugged beauty of the northern Caucasus. Guests have easy access to the spectacular cascades that define the landscape near the Shahdag mountain peak. Beyond casual hiking, Suvar serves as a base for guided climbing expeditions to iconic peaks, including Mount Shahdag, Mount Bazarduzu, and Mount Yarudag.

01:30 PM

Red Village

The Red Village (Girmizi Qasaba) in Quba is one of the most unique cultural landmarks in Azerbaijan. Known as the world’s last remaining "shtetl" (a traditional Jewish market town) outside of Israel and the United States, it is a place where history and tradition are preserved in a beautiful mountain setting. The village is famously known as the home of the Mountain Jews, a community that has lived in the region for centuries. The town is visually distinct, characterized by its traditional architecture, ornate synagogues, and a deep sense of community that bridges the past and the present. The village offers a rare glimpse into the unique traditions, language (Juhuri), and lifestyle of the Mountain Jews. It is a place of quiet reflection where the local history is visible in every street corner.

02:10 PM

Qecresh forest

Located just a short drive from the city of Quba, Qecresh is one of the most picturesque and popular natural retreats in Northern Azerbaijan. As you travel through the region, the landscape shifts into a dense, verdant corridor of towering trees that line the road, creating a breathtaking "green tunnel" that provides shade and cool temperatures, even during the heat of summer. The road itself is the primary attraction. Passing through Qecresh feels like entering another world, with thick forests of beech, oak, and hornbeam trees arching over the winding mountain path. The forest is bordered by the pristine Qudyalchay River, which flows from the high Caucasus mountains. Its crystal-clear, icy waters add a serene soundtrack to the environment and offer perfect spots for cooling off or relaxing by the riverbank. This is the final spot of this tour
